mothers day as special as our kids
This morning my youngest plopped herself into my bed
gave me a great big hug
and
wished me a happy mothers day!

She knew my neck had been bothering me
so she
immediately began massaging it

talk about heaven!

if that wasn't enough

she told me that recently she had read some of my posts
even book marked the site
for a few of her friends

and informed me

sometimes
when boredom strikes

they visit my blog

I was touched to say the least
literally
not only by the massage
but by
her ability to make me extremely happy

after the glorious rub down

my baby
started reading a few of my own stories to me
including the comments

I was totally entertained
and every now and then
she'd stop
to poke fun at something I had written

she was
right on
and very funny

actually,
she really cracked me up!

as a mom
its absolutely amazing to watch your children blossom before your very eyes

all the kids changed the most
between 8th grade and freshman year in high school
that's the time they shed their cocoons
and began to fly

my chubby little baby with glasses and braces
morphed overnight
into a tall, slender, beautiful, sensitive, and caring young lady
with straight white teeth and contact lenses

thus far our Kate
is a diligent student
who
continuously seems to make good decisions
and wonderful well thought out choices
she truly is a gift from God and I'm so very proud of her

However
this morning she informed me that she visited my archives
traveled all the way back to September
and read the stories I posted the day before and after
the 23rd
and told me that I had
forgotten to mention a very important occasion
which was the day after my oldest daughters nuptials

I'm afraid all the excitement of Nicole's wedding
Sept. 22nd
overshadowed poor little Katie's
15th birthday
I wrote something on the day of the wedding
and even though we had a cake for Katie
I failed to compose something especially for her
yet, I wrote one for JR and Sam in January
on their birthdays
Oh, the guilt!

Katie thought I should probably
post something really nice about her
to make up for such a terrible oversight
so
I wish I could think of something?
thats another story

Hmmm, bold font, bright colors, are you trying to send a message? I like the part about the teeth, very motherly.

thanks circe, you are always so observant and smileforthecamera, "movie scene in my mind" I do that all the time, I even think of the soundtrack that will play over certain scenes...thats another story, but this movie scene reference...does that comment have anything to do with how you got your name?

I just have to make a comment on my own post...I have 4 terrific children and I love all of them (equally) more than words can say...but the reason I only wrote about Kate today is because, it was her turn. So, just so you guys know, Nicole, JR and Sam, I'd also like to thank you three, for helping to make this a special day!

Colorado and Merideth
thanks for reading my post and I appreciate your uplifting comments, but I never ever feel like a good mom, I make so many mistakes, but it is sure nice to hear someone say it.

Happy belated Mother's Day. Sounds like you had a good one. Isn't it kind of neat that all over the nation/world Mothers are celebrating and being celebrated by their children. It's great that yours are interested in your blogs. I am new of this but I find it gives me something to talk about to my computer savy sons, and grandsons. They think it's cool that Nana is blogging!
