instead of writing, I spent my time reading
other peoples blogs!
I had intended to post a few stories tonight.
couldnt wait to get to my computer,
my mind felt like a busy backed up airport
the run way was over crowded
a lot of stress was taking place in the control tower
so many ideas were stored in my brain
I was afraid I was going to lose one

All weekend I was writing them in my head as I was living them,
someone would utter something priceless that needed to be written for safe keeping
 yet I couldnt say
"excuse me for a moment, I want to type a thought or two, for my blog, do you mind?"

the situation reminded me of a fantastic movie
with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton

Jack was dating Dianes daughter and Jack and Diane ended up falling in love
if you havent seen it
you have to!
I will not give the ending away
but
I love the beach house in the movie
it is the house of my dreams!

OMG!
I love that kitchen!

Diane opens her stainless steel restaurant sized fridge

in her unbelievable kitchen
and using her leftovers
whips up a few late night "snacks"
of course she has all the ingrediants needed
stored in their proper containers
placed ever so neatly in the various spotless shelves

in her bedroom sits
the most beautiful writing desk I have ever seen
facing a spectacular view of the ocean

its to die for!
It is not hard to picture myself writing my novel at that desk
I would not change a single thing in that dream house

well
she and Jack break up
and Diane is heartbroken

after crying around the clock
she begins to write the story of her romance and her breakup
as she sits at the most perfect desk in the entire world

she begins to recall all the details

she cries, she writes
she cries, she writes
she occasionally chuckles
 she writes some more
you get the picture

until she has a hit play on her hands

thats another story
please go see that movie!

I digress
yet, I can relate to Dianes character
because
thats how I felt this weekend
and many other times in my life
for that matter

as the good things
as well as the bad things are occurring in my life

sentences are forming in my head that need to be written
even during the worst stuff

occasionally,
it seems to be happening to someone else
and I'm just along to record it for posterity

Did I digress again?

I had intended to empty the contents of this weekend from my overstuffed suitcase of a brain
but began reading other peoples blogs instead
and now its way too late
and Im way to tired
and I can not remember a single thing worth writing
at this very moment
so
I'm going to bed

oh that house
I'm going to dream about it
goodnight!

what a great post - enjoyed it. Loved your airport analogy. I am also interested to know what your novel is about that you are currently writing/thinking about writing ... and lastly what's the name of the movie??

OOPHS Sorry, Easy

thanks for the comments!
I love hearing from everyone almost as much as I love that house!

the movie is called
SOMETHINGS GOT TO GIVE
I BELIEVE IT WAS RELEASED IN 2002.

Dianes character just pours her entire life into her typewriter and violia, a successsful play appears...
if only we, on thoughts, could do that..

there is enough drama here to provide a never ending source for broadway!

as far as my novel,
I have no less than 10 or 20 started
not a single one completed

I did finished a few childrens books all inspired by my kids!
I ONLY ATTEMPTED TO GET ONE or two PUBLISHED

WE'LL SEE, NOT NOW, MAYBE LATER

was one.

Katie had asked me if we'll see is alot like maybe?
oh yeah, and another...

IS TODAY TOMORROW?

She was looking forward to something
and she kept asking me when it was going to happen and I said tomorrow

when she woke up the next day
the first thing she said was

"Is today, tomorrow?!"

They were rejected by all the major companies, so I put all my copies, I made way too many of them, in a drawer or a bin somewhere and just kept on writing!

For me, its much more fun to write than it is to try to sell something Ive written,

although
I certainly would not be opposed to getting paid for indulging in my passion! I just have not quite figured out how to make that happen!
but, thats, another story!

You are sooooooo like me cause I agree totally on that house. Could we share it??? Also, like you, I go around thinking about how I could write what is happening to me now as a blog and then - whoosh - the time has gone. It is always so good to read your thoughts. I'm taking time off to write but can't resist poking my nose in to see if my favourite people have posted. Keep dreaming Rose! Without our dreams we are nothing.

I agree also ... the beach house in that movie is perfect. Sometimes I fantasize about running away from my life ... spending time out in the country or by the ocean ... for a couple weeks or a month. Maybe then all the thoughts and ideas in my head and heart would get down on paper in a way that would make some kind of sense. Another great post, Roe. Peace.

wouldnt that be fun, I have often thought that is the way to do it. In books or movies the main character, the author always goes to a beach house or some wonderful peaceful location and all they do it write, what a luxury!
