happy birthday Bobby, you are in my heart...
Today is my baby brothers Birthday.
His name is Bob.
He was quite a guy!
We haven't celebrated his birthday together in ages.
I havent seen him for 19 years,
give or take.
He never even met my 2 youngest children.

This is always a very sad day
for my
other brother Bill and I
not to mention my parents

How must they feel?

A missing child is almost worse than a dead child
although, I am sure that is debatable
but knowing he is out there
suffering and not at rest
is very difficult
something you never get over
time does not heal

There were three of us
Rosemary, Billy and Bob

3 durkins
I was named after my Mom,
Bill was named after my Dad,
and Bob was just a name my Mother liked.
I always liked it too.

Bill had 2 boys
Bob never met them either

Their names
are

Billy and Bobby

Its wierd to have another Billy and Bobby in my life
These two little innocent boys are similiar in temperment
to my 2 brothers
totally opposite of each other

I pray for Bills sons
and my own kids
I pray we never lose them

I pray for my parents
and all the familes

everywhere
who are missing a loved one
especially when that loved one is missing by choice

maybe
just maybe
he doesnt have a choice
but thats, another story

Bobby....
where ever you are
Happy Birthday!

I love you

Sorry roe. I have been in both places. so your right it is debatable.
Isn't there somway you can trace him? What about the locator? This guy is fantastic. I know your feeling horrible today because of this. But I also know that you go through this pain everyday. Not just on his birthday.
(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))

We have "located" him a few times over the years, but he does not want to "be found"
Once when Bill was looking for him in California...he described him to a security guard who said he had seen a guy in the area that sounded like my brother...he had a bike and a dog. Bob actually walked past the window of the diner where Bill and this man were conversing. They spent the entire evening talking and Bob said he had to take care of something and never came back. Its a long story...and a very sad one!

God. Would you believe that last week. When was it...Just before memorial day. There was this guy walking up the street with a dog. So you say big deal yeah well it was a big enough deal for me to park the van and wait for him to pass me so I could aske where he was going. Reason being is I was concerned for the dog. The dof had a backpack on. I guess it had water and food. The guy also looked ragged. Only because they were hiking....big time. I asked where they were going and he said DC. I'm in RI.
Freaky.

We would like to hear the story if you think you can do it. Not now but in the future.

I am so sorry to hear of this and feel your pain. It's obvious that you miss him and love him. I don't know the story behind the story here but in the end, if he doesn't want found there is only so much a person can do. He had the excellent opportunity to reunite when he talked to Bill but instead, he took off.

I feel for you and your patents and both brothers. I know how hard it is. I want to offer words of comfort but I'm afraid no words will do. But I do offer you a shoulder to cry on.

This must be so hard to deal with - I can't begin to mention. You had a beginning but no middle and no end. My grandfather's brother went to America, wrote a couple of times then disappeared. No one ever forgot him. God bless Roe

Happy Belated Birthday, Bobby.
Whose candles were left, to burn in a window,
Never to be blown out.

How did he get to be so unhinged? From such a loving family no less? I wonder...
I have an aunt who went off her own deep end in a similar way. It's very hard on everyone.
Most of all, I suspect, on the one who went away.

I like to keep my eyes on the photograph. I makes the reality so much easier to endure.
