You have an ability to paint a vivid picture with words, try looking in another direction, some place that brings you joy and try to describe that, see what happens.

the thing is faith, you have to have faith, that things will not always feel this bleak, it will get better, and let me ask you this, do you feel good when you read about all these horrible things? Why not read something that will make you feel good inside. Its a choice. Did you ever hear of Loretta LaRoche? Rent her tapes and read some of her books, she gives people a real gift, belly laughs! You will feel so much better after spending time listening to her, than reading about those senseless shootings. We need to focus on the good, we need to think about positive thoughts and you will slowly become more positive. You are what you think.
Do I sound like I am preaching, if I am, I apologise. I do understand depression, but I think if you add a little more joy in your life, you will feel so much better.

You can still feel close to your dad by living the best life you can lead, make him proud of the choices you make and do something to honor him...make a contribution to society on his behalf.
Find your purpose in life and your passion, I know you have it, it will give you someting to life for, a reason to jump out of bed in the morning. I think writing is a good start, it might lead you to the reason you were put on this earth. Its not time for you to check out, sad, for you that it was your dads time. You should start looking for all the reasons to live instead of the reason you wanted to die.
I will pray for you as well as alot of people on this site. Believe me, it is alot easier to give advice than get it, and I know things are hard for you, but hang in there. I will check back in on you. Take care and have a HAPPY Birthday.

I hate fake people too, but I would like to share something with you that my father told me many years ago. If someone ignores you one day and acts real friendly another, it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with that person. Maybe something is going on in their lives that you are not aware of and they are in their own little world and did not even notice you. You havent been snubbed, just not seen.
Its almost never about you, its always something with them, something they are dealing with etc, so you should give them the benefit of the doubt...but like I said before I also hate fake people

I agree, I looked at the recent posts tonight and one after another sort of made me ill, certainly did not make me want to read further. I wonder what is going on, its normally not like this. Maybe the air will clear and we can enjoy some fresh air again, well, lets hope anyway. We should all get together and post a few postive uplighting happy things for a day or two, sort of like a treat. Everyone has problems, I do not know anyone who doesnt. Yet, sometimes we have to get our mind off of them and take a breather. I also understanding venting can be cleansing too, it just does not have to be slutty or vulgar.

I happen to have a funny story about something similar, I am going to write about it one of these days, Ive started more than once, but its so goofy, I never finished.
I dont believe in haunted houses, but I do believe in the power of positive thinking which works just as well in reverse. If you think its haunted, bad things will happen...yet, I realize quite a few people would disagree with me.

My daughter is going to be one of the leaders of a retreat in March. She is working very hard on her speech. I wonder if she could e mail you. You have such a modern slant, you appeal to the younger crowd as well as the baby boomers. Her talk is about christian leadership or something like that and she is presenting it to seniors in high school. She is a senior herself.

I just started a story about old people. I have been thinking about them alot lately.
My dad is 85, going to be 86 and he and my mom go to church daily
long story short
he was telling me that he knows he doesnt have a whole lot of time left, he can do the math, and he wonders how God is going to take him and my mother
will they have cancer or some disease, will they suffer, will it be today, when? I guess I hadnt thought about that for awhile, but I told him, these days its not just the 80 year olds that are thinking about that, with all the violence in the world! Those students sitting in class at NIU had no idea that yesterday was going to be their very last day, and they never could have predicted it

I hate when people are mean to a pencil and tells them to get the lead out! And those pencil pushers are such bullies. How about the show offs, the lead pencil that are pen want to be's. They are such fakes! At least pencils can get to the point! But when boy pencils fall in love and move into their own pads together, with a really sharp pencil, they are able to get over their girlfriend pencils without too much heart ache, they just eraseher. When I was in my 20's I had the hardest time with gray areas. If something was black,(bad or wrong) I would stay away, if it was white,(good or right) I knew it was ok, but it was those tricky gray areas, the ones where people you would go to for advice would tell you, that you must decide for yourself. I was much better at black and white things.

I would not call it self sabotage, I would call it rational thinking.
You made a great decision by thinking it through. You did not make an excuse, no no no!... fortunately you did not make a hasty decisions, thats a good thing.
and think of all the people out there who look at you and see beauty inside and out...never compare yourself to anyone, you are unique. And the part where you say"( are you listening universe?) THE ANSWER IS THE UNIVERSE IS LISTENING!
To genuinely have the impulse to do things
and accomplish things
because I love them, because I know that they are good for me, and I know that I need them.." THAT SOUNDs ALOT LIKE PASSION TO ME, YOU NEED TO FIND YOUR PASSION AND YOUR PURPOSE AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS ALL YOUR DECISIONS WILL LEAD YOU TO YOUR GOALS, IT WILL BE AUTOMATIC. OCCASIONALLY, WE ALL HAVE TO FORCE OURSEVES TO DO SOME THINGS, THATS CALLED SELF DICLIPINE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE THAT TOO. You are way too hard on yourself, enjoy your life, and know you are truly a gift from God. Its so easy to give advice, isnt it? Now if only I was able to practice what I preach.

Im so sorry for you, this was a wonderful post, and so true, maybe someone considering ending their life, might think twice after reading it, so I hope this makes it to alot of readers.

welcome back, sorry to hear about your marriage and your anxiety...
I've had my share of panic attacks and they are no fun, but the problem is, the pain is real, so you are not sure what to do, once I was jogging and I wasnt sure if I was having a panic attack or a heart attack and I didnt want to be road kill, so I jogged right into the emergency room and asked them to hook me up, and then Id be on my way.
It can be embarassing.

once, a total stranger in a car, who was angry at me for some traffic offense he thought I made pulled up to me, he was facing north and I was facing south and he, are you ready for this, omg, he spit at me, and drove off. It was so disgusting. I just sat in the car... frozen, and all sorts of angry horns were honking at me, I was far away from home, working in a strange territory and I just wanted to go home but I had so many sales calls to make...some people are just ignorant. They are the ones that really need our prayers, but lets pray for them and keep our distance.

I have a closet full of masks, so many, I have no idea from day to day which one I'll need.
You know how people say you should get rid of stuff in your closet if you havent worn something in a year, well, I cant throw out any masks, who knows when I will need a certain one.
Sometimes, I have to carry a big purse so I can change masks mid day.
Seriously, this was a very good post and thanks for pointing out psalm 145, that was a "wish I had a V8 moment for me" I hope you are old enough to get that?

I just read case part one and two, you should not have to look to far to see what you want, you are a writer, so write!
I know change is hard, I understand what you are going through and I know it is not easy, no one has the answers, seek Gods grace, give him all your problems and write your little heart out, write about how you feel, turn it into a story. I cant wait to find out what happens to that helpless fearful women who became a famaous writer. good luck to you!
