my dad had a piece of steak caught in his esophagus and had to have it surgically removed. You were lucky, thank goodness, sheesh!

To answer your first question, when should you throw in the towel, the answer is NOW, and I can say that without even knowing any more details, if you have any doubts whatsoever just remember all this took place in a text message. Come on! Have a great time the next 4 months, 5 months, 6 months and burn that towel, don't just throw it. All the best to you!

its amazing how worked up we parents can get, and while you are still reeling, your kids are on to yet another drama, and completely over the last one, so parents just need to brace themselves. My two youngest have a dance this weekend, so things are already building for more drama!

you are never "rid" of your kids, even when they are out of the house. Its a live long committment, one you cant run away from. I got married older, so I am lucky I do not feel like I missed out on anything, but it is sure hard, I admit, I enjoy them a little older, but little kids, little problems, big kids, big problems, I will pray for you

well. sometimes it does feel good just to know you are not alone, keep talking about it and you will discover that more and more people are experiencing some of your identical complaints. that does not make yours go away, but there is a certain comfort in that for some strange reason, at least you dont think you are a freak or lack willpower. Sometimes its just a chemical imbalance and sometimes you need some therapy. Just dont give up, for the sake of your kids at least. Keep writing your feeling. I couldnt stop eating chocolate yesterday either and Im paying for it today, I feel really sick.
Keep us posted, comtinue to reach out, and keep writing! You will have more friends and supporters than you'll know what to do with. We all care and want to help

I couldnt believe they noticed, I thought I was really faking it pretty good. All I said, was that I needed to concentrate on my driving and thats why I looked so seroius. One time I told ome of the kids I was sad, that was not a good idea. Even though I told them everyone gets sad once in awhile. They worry too much. They should not have to worry about me, they need to ne kids.

my first experience was driving a stick shift. I was 16 and everytime I stopped, especially on a hill, I would get out of the car and ask the people behind me to back up, I would always roll backward before I went forward and I did not want to crash into the car behind me. My friends were hysterical, but I was serious.

It must be difficult yet rewarding to work with people in a nursing home. I often pass one near my house and feel sad for them because they must know they are staying there until they die. Its so sad to see themn sitting out in front in a wheel chair and blanket. We could all learn so much from senior citizens. It must be so hard for them, to think they have outlived their usefulness. We need to figure out ways to become part of the community.
