if you had to choose someone
that most embodies the beliefs of W. Clement Stone
and his positive mental attitude

if you looked up drained in the dictionary
you'd see my picture
or
how about someone who never wants the world to know
if and when
she or he is feeling
blue
and goes to great lengths to hide that fact from the universe
so when she or he feels that way she or he hides
yep,
guess who that is today?
have you ever had to go somewhere and celebrate
when you dont even feel like getting out of your jammies?
did you ever meet an individual who has had a lot of stuff on their plate
yeah, sure, we all know a million of those chaps
today
Are you a member of that club?
If someone announced
" all hopeless people to the left and all hopeful people to the right"
today
I'd stand smack dab in the middle
not being able to decide which way to go?
if someone was holding a sign
on the side of the highway
that read
if you have never felt any negative feelings
or haven't a single problem
"come over to my house for a party"
I imagine that guy would be pretty lonely waiting for someone to show
sure hope he didn't spend too much money on food and decorations
just because someone
can't
or
won't
share their problems
does not mean they dont have any
If you know someone who seems upbeat and happy all the time
I guarantee you
they're not!
at least
not
all the time
if you think nothing bothers them
then that someone is a good actor or actress
and should win an academy award
if you know anyone who is really funny
guess what
that individual is the saddest one of all
oh
and
if you know one of those
macho
macho men
believe it or not
they occasionally cry
and
should do it a lot more often
if you think
a certain person must lead a charmed life
and you believe they are so lucky
you are so wrong
if a friend has not called in awhile
instead of being angry at them
give them a call
or
if they were a no show to some event of yours
understand
it's not about you
give them a pass
and if you ever for a single minute
wished
you had some other persons life
don't!
be careful what you wish for
I wouldn't do it
if I were you!
know one thing for sure
the people who appear not to need anyone or anything
are the most needy people in the world
bake them a ham
today
and
make them a pan of brownies
and
bring it over to their house
smile at them
they have been smiling at you their entire lives
well,
some of them
anyway
thats another story
oh
if they dont answer the door
leave the ham and brownies
they wont go to waste
trust me!
so
go ahead
see if they need something
who knows what might happen
if they open the door
they might open up to you
or
maybe they won't
but at least
they will not feel so alone
today
and the sky will not fall today
no
not today
so go ham it up!

Roe -- I come to your posts most every day and leave without commenting because your words have left me speechless. This post was just awesome and spoke deeply to my heart. Every weekend (I work as a Realtor) I hold an open house at a new construction site. A smile on my face and a sweet hello on my lips is my greeting for each guest who appears at the door. Most days my heart feels anything, but happy. Each one of us carries grief and hurt in our hearts. We think we are so different (from one another) .... but we truly are the same. I'm asked all the time how I can be such a positive person. I flood the universe with positive thoughts and words to chase away and keep at bay the negative things that stalk my heart. Roe... I dont know how to make a ham, but I can make some dang good Texas BBQ Ribs... How about I bring them over with a Pineapple Upside Down Cake or a Peach Cobbler... if Circe would turn her head away for a few while I snag some of her peaches!! :)
