No one appreciates a story teller anymore

everyone is in such a hurry

no one gathers on the front porch

 relaxing with a group of friends

shooting the breeze

everyone is too busy

getting to the point

no time to waste
 
with idle chit chat

now we have chat rooms for that

Last year before my son went away to college,

I sat him down,

pinned him down,

and asked him,

the back of his head

 How he wanted me to communicate with him.

 If I spoke to him,

he didn't listen,

if I wrote to him,

 he didn't read it,

if I left  him messages on his cell,

 he did not retrieve them

sent him e mails

He didn't open them

said mine were always too long..go figure?
