bull!
Wow
this was a big sports week
for us

Monday
the Chicago White Soxs Opener
and Friday
the Chicago Bulls Game

My husband and I met my son
who is a sophomore in college
and took him to dinner before the game
along with our youngest daughter
who is a freshman in high school

I love to get to the arena early because there is so much to see
Its a carnival atmosphere
a three ring circus actually
 people are introduced on the court and awards are presented
the women who started safety village in Hinsdale was one of recipients
Its like a show within a show
The pre game video is genius
The editing and the camera angles are phenomenal

Like the words to the song Frank Sinatra sings,
Chicago 
is
my kind of town!
I get a lump in my throat every time I hear him sing those words

Before I even take a bite of popcorn, the game is about to begin
We all rise and someone sings the national anthem
always reaching those high notes
not to worry
makes you proud to be an American!

the opposing team is introduced
and
now 
we are all in the dark

lazer beams of light seem to be searching for something
the music blares
as our attention is directed toward the big screen once again

  A giant herd of bulls hit the streets of Chicago 
heading toward the Chicago Stadium

the anticipation is palpable
no matter how many times I see this
It still gives me the chills
quite a moment!
then

the announcer says,
"and now,
 the Chicago Bulls!"

the crowd goes wild!

the team is introduced
as their pictures flash before us
in all their glory

I could leave right then and there and be totally satisfied
but then I'd miss
not only the game
which for most fans
is the reason they are there
except for me
I'd miss
the lovables with all their costume changes and dance routines
and the donuts and m&m races
not to mention the free throw contest
and the kiss cam
and the dance cam
and the look alike cam
and the paracutes carrying t shirts as their cargo
falling from the sky
as well as the eager young people shooting McDonalds t shirts into the crowd
what a great job!
thats another story

and 
the giant red bull balloon floating all around the venue
the mascott Benny the Bull complete with all his antics
spilling pop corn all over everyone
and sitting on peoples laps
and you can't beat those drummers
pun intended
very impressive
and

the lively group of senior citizens dancing their hearts out
to a hip hop beat 
steal the show

I look forward to all the time outs and every quarter
plus the instant replays
especially when the camera is positioned above the rim of the basket
and the game is only as good as its half time show
my goodness
It was such a fabulous evening
and for all you sports fans
there were a number of dunks and stuffs
and the crowd was on their feet more than once
especially when the Bulls scored 99 points
because
if they win the game and score over 100 points
all the fans go home with a Big Mac
and by golly
 they did!
so
we all went home
 with a burger

can't beat that!
