| About Me |
HI!----My name is Bob Dankanics and I am 64 yrs. old and new to blogs. I have been fishing seriously since I was 4 yrs. old. Before that, I just dabbled. Most of my early years were spent in a Beach Buggy on Island Beach State Park with my father, who was one of the best Striped Bass fishermen who ever lived. He was way ahead of his time in research, original lure creations and techniques. (I miss you, Dad). I grew up in New Brunswick, N.J. and fished the Ocean and every river and lake I could get to. I graduated college, then got my Master's degree and moved to Manhattan. I think I was the only resident in New York who had an old ratty station wagon with a boat in a rack on top. As soon as I left the office at 5PM Fridays, I was on my way to some fishing destination-trout fishing the Upper Delaware, the Beaverkill, The Willowemoc, The Ken Lockwood Gorge, Flat Brook, etc. Or perhaps Steelhead fishing the Salmon River, the Sandies, the Niagara, Sault Ste. Marie, etc. After 6 yrs. in the fast lane of New York, I fell in love and my new bride and I decided that living in the city wasn't what we wanted to do. So we moved to the country in New Jersey and eventually started a Precision woodworking business that we ran successfully for 30 yrs. I now live by the Ocean in Pt. Pleasant Beach, N.J. I guide both freshwater and salt, I commercial fish Giant Bluefin Tuna as well as Speyfish for Steelhead and Atlantic Salmon. I developed a company that produces custom flyreels for Salmon, Steelhead and Speyfishing as well as producing Nautical furniture and accessories. I also carve Scrimshaw and supply Swordfish bills and Turtle shells to other Scrimshawers and Taxidermists. (View my products in my eBay Store: Custom-Made by Roberts and on my website: www.robertstackleco.com). I am looking forward to sharing my interests with like-minded individuals and hope I will have something of interest to my fellow bloggers. Thank you for reading my biography. Sincerely, Capt. Bob |
