 Shopping, snow and a hurricane!!!

Oh my god!!! I am truely shocked at how long it’s been since i last updated!!! I’ve been so busy that i just havn’t had time!!!

There’s so much to tell you all about! Where to start! We’ve had Thanks Giving, the start of Hanukkah, a mini hurrican, SNOW and most importantly SHOPPING!!!!! (well actually, i don’t know which is more important, snow or shopping! Hmmmm, will have to think about that!)

But i’ll get to that later!

Thanks Giving was great! We went to Shira’s Dad’s house for dinner! There about 18 poeple there! It was a huge meal! I don’t think i’ve ever seen so much food! It was a really lovely day! The family had the traddition that they all stand up and say what they are thankfull for. Gil said he was thankfull for Thomas the Tank Engine!!! How cute!!!

The weather that day was really lovely! The family live on Long Island so it took us like 2 hours to drive there!  It was really sunny and all the trees were golden and beautiful! I was so stuffed after that meal that i didn’t eat again till the following evening!!! I mentioned in my last blog about the parade in Stamford, it was so good! There were loads of balloons and floats and bands and a very freaky group of cheerleaders who looed likt robots!!!

The day after Thanks Giving is called Black Friday! Now I know why! Black Friday is the day when all the stores cut their prices by as much as 90%!!! It’s always a Friday and it’s called Black Friday because you have to have a death wish to go into the stores on this day!!! People que all night long to be at the front on the line when the doors open at 3 in the morning!!!! I however am not that insane! I went to the mall at about 11ish and it was still heaving with people!!! All the shops were basicly sold out of everything! Next year i think i’ll be ordering online!!!

What was next??? Oh Yeah, Hanukkah! It started today (4th December) and goes for 8 days. Tonight we lit the Chaunkkah and Ofer and Shira sung the prayers. Traditionaly after you light the Chaunkkah you feast on potato pancakes but we’re doing that on the last day oh Hanukkah! The boys opened their presents, they get one for every day of Hanukkah!

Then was......oh my god, how could i forget! The mini hurricane! Well actually then snow came first so i shoud probebly write about that first! Oh my god! (I wonder how many times i can say that in one blog entry? Hmmm)  It was so amazing! I heard the forcast on Saturday, but being British i didn’t really believe that it would snow! Come on it never does in England!!! So anyhoo, i woke up on Sunday morning and everything was white! It was so beautiful!!! There was like 4 inches and it was still falling. Shira and Ofer were going out to Shira’s brothers for a pre Hanukkah celebration so i had the house to myself! I put on my new snow boots and my new ski jacket and went to play in the snow! I felt like such a little kid but it was so much fun and so magical!!! When the kids came home we made snow angels and a snow man! We put a hat, scarf and gloves on it and Gil called him Whitie! The boys looked so cute in their snowsuits!

But alas, the lovely snow didn’t last long, it was gone by the next morning and in it’s place were very strong winds!!! There was a mini hurrican during the night! It was so loud! If that was mini, i would hate to be in a proper one! There were branches down all over the place and garden furnature thrown all over the place! We had a couple of tiles blown off the roof but other than that we were unscathed! The neighbours however had their car written off when a tree came down on it!!!

Backtraching to Satuday, me and my friend Nicole (I met her at orientation, she’s from new zealand) went to Jersey Gardens! It is the most AMAZING place!!! It in New Jersey (hense the name) and it’s a H-U-G-E discount shopping mall! There are over 100 stores and they all sell their stuff at a discounted price!!! It’s amazing! There’s loads of designer stores there too which all sell their stuff cheap! I bought a Cathy Van Zealand bag with should have cost me $290 give or take, guess how much i got it for! Go on, guess! Nope, your way off! Hehe! I got it for $120!!!!! I saved $170!!! I’0 definatly going back there again!!! Maybe after christmas i’ll go and spend some more on great bargins!!!

I think that’s about it! Ummm.....can’t think of anything else to tell you all! Other than the fact that it’s so friggin’ cold over here!!!! I need to get some thermals!

Anyhoo, you know the routine, links to pictures are below!

Love you all lots

Take care
