Ok, there’s allot to catch up on so concentrate people!
Since my last update I have been up to loads!
Saturday 8th December:
Finally after 4 months of being separated I finally met up with Fiona and Hayley, my friends from college who are also aupairs out here! We all met up in Hartford for the day and went to the theatre in the evening to see Wicked! It was so good to see the two girls again! I hadn’t seen Fiona since I she left in July and I hadn’t seen Hayley since September! It was sooooooo good to catch up with them! And the show was great too! For those of you who don’t know Wicked, it’s a fantastic musical about how the wicked witch of the west from The Wizard of Oz became wicked!!! It’s amazing! The music is just incredible! I highly recommend it!
Sunday 9th December:
Me, Hayley and Fiona met up again, this time in New York City! We spent the day there before me and Hayley got the bus to Washington DC (where Hayley is an aupair). I had a week of because my family had gone on holiday, so rather than stay home on my own I went to DC with Hayley, did some sightseeing and went to visit my cousins! But more of that later! So we spent the day in New York and had an absolute blast! It was so cold though!!! So we all got to NY about 10am and first off we went to Madame Tousaurdes! Oh My God how much fun did we have! There are some very funny photos! Especially the ones of us with Tina Turner and the Spice Girls!!! Hehe! We spent the rest of the day shopping and sightseeing and posing in front of various Christmas trees! We went to central park too and walked our way through it! We went to the little zoo there which was fun! The seals were hilarious! One of those ‘you-had-to-be-there’ moments!!! Just outside the zoo gates was a guy doing balloon animals, so naturally we all had to have one! I thought I would be cheeky and asked if he could do a Santa’s hat! He said he couldn’t but that he would surprise me with something else! So he started twisting and turning and folding at the same time as asking us questions like who we were, where we come from what we were doing there and stuff! He was so friendly and funny! So anyway a couple of minutes later he finishes his creation which turns out to be a balloon hat...with a great big penis on the front!!! Of course I was shocked and horrified and also a very amused at the same time! But he did offer to change it into a flower! So anyhoo, we wondered off back through central park and headed our separate ways!
After a 4 and ½ hour bus ride, me and Hayley got to DC at about 1am!
Thus began me week of holiday! It was great, I got to lie in, had no chores to do, it was great! I stayed with Hayley Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, we did the sights of DC on Monday, shopping and museums on Tuesday and then Tuesday night we went to the theatre to see Spamalot! He was great! So funny! Highly recommend that too!!!
Wednesday night I took the metro to Vienna in DC to visit my cousins! It was so great to see them again! I hadn’t seen them since 2001! That was the last holiday we took here! My then eight year old cousin is now a strapping 6ft 14 year old!!! Apart from Robert’s growth spurt the family hasn’t changed much, Kate is still as kooky as ever and Steve is still a gentleman! They have two new pets, a dog and a cat! It was nice to be around animals again! So stayed with them for a few days, did more sightseeing and museums then on Friday I headed back to join Hayley.
Hayley and I went to the movies Friday night! We went to see Enchanted! I can’t remember whether I had told you all that I had already seen it once but anyhoo, we went to see it again! Hayley and I love that film! It’s great! It’s the new Disney film! It starts of in animation with the same old story plot boy meets girl, love at first sight, then disaster strikes, blah, blah, blah, so anyhoo suddenly the film goes into live action, as in really people playing the characters who ended up stranded in the real world in New York! Que some great dance numbers in central park and love songs on top of the Empire State Building! It’s so good; you have to go see it!
So we went to see that....twice!
Saturday 15th December:
This day freaked me out a little! I woke up and realised that I had been in America for exactly 2 months!!! How scary is that! It sounds like ages but it feels as if it’s gone really quickly! 2 months down, 10 months to go!!!
Saturday was also Julia’s birthday; Julia is the little girl that Hayley looks after! She turned 4 and Saturday was her birthday party! I have never seen a more spoilt child in my life! Her parents spent like $500 on her party!!! It was ridiculous! She had the biggest cake I had ever seen! Only half of it was eaten at the party and the parents just threw out the rest of it!!!!!!!!!!!!! The party bags might as well of had gold bars in them by the looks of how much each one cost!!!
Carrying on, I made my way home to New York on Sunday to be met by 3 feet of snow!!!!!
Monday it was back to work, nothing much exciting happened during this week!
I can’t believe its Christmas already! I haven’t done my Christmas shopping yet! I’m doing it on Monday night!
Anyhoo got to go! We’re busy packing this weekend, we’re moving house on the 28th December, we’re only going 5 minds down the road, and I’ll give you the new address as soon as I know it!
Speaking of the 28th, DADDY’S COMMING TO VISIT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurrah! I’m so excited! I can’t wait for a cuddle!!! This is the longest I have ever been away from him!!!
