Age 7: Riding my push bike round in circles as my sister held onto a rope attached to the bike (pretending to be horses)
Age 6: Trapping our pet dog in make shift gates so we could play with him
Age 5: Starting school and managing not to get in trouble (like all my friends did) for spitting water
Age 4: Crying uncrontrollably for not being allowed to go somewhere with my mum or dad or someone... cant remember the details, just remember the immense sadness, anger and wanting to go soooooooo badly and not being allowed and wanting my parents to understand that i just wanted to go with them!!!
Its funny working with kids, the more i work the more of my childhood comes flashing back, playing over and over in my mind...
Just minutes ago Girlie2 was left at home with me while Mummy and Boy5 went grocery shopping. Girlie2 was beside herself and back come rushing the memories of 'Age 4'!
All memories listed above have come to me as i have watched the kids doing similiar activities and they've made me see that i had the most amazing, fantastic, wonderful upbringing and i am so grateful to my parents
for everything they've done for me!!!
Also, it made me realise that parents are just doing the best they can... They are doing what they know how just to cope. Being a parent/carer is HARD!!!! There were things that my parents did when i was little that i said i wouldnt do... just little things.... but know that im helping to raise to kids sometimes parents have to do what they gotta do.... I just hadnt realised that till now!
PARENTS EVERYWHERE ---- THANKYOU!
