 Adding to the list
In the ever changing environment of life I think it is fitting that my list of goals and things to do within life continues to grow and evolve.
So here they are the latest editions to my list:
The following was written by Belinda Emmett when she found out she was dying of cancer.
After having read Jill Smolinski’s book “The Next Thing On My List” (which I strongly suggest you read!). I have decided to complete Belinda’s list, in the hope of enhancing my own life and learning to appreciate the life I have!

“I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren’t there for a day…
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted into a rose before it melted in storage…
I would have talked less and listened more…
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained or the sofa faded…
I would have eaten popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace…
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth…
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband…
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed…
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains…
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life…
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime…”
- Belinda Emmett

Not all of these apply directly to me, so Ive adjusted this to add these to my list:
*Burn my 18th birthday candles and take time to watch the flame flicker
*Have friends over for a dinner party
*Listen to my dad when he tells stories about his past instead of talking over and ignoring him!
*Drive along on a sunny day with the windows down and music up LOUD!
*Lay on the lawn and watch the clouds and not once care about how dirty I am getting!

These may be seemingly insignificant things but anything that puts a smile on your dile is worthwhile in my book!

That girl
