Anna had a real good morning and afternoon. She was responsive and calm. There was a vague indication that maybe, just maybe, she responded to a command. Twice we asked her to release her hand, and twice it seemed that she did. It wasn’t a definitive scientific study, but it was encouraging! She again responded very well to Bliz (her eldest sister) saying goodnight to her on the phone!
Her eyes stay real wide open now when she’s awake and calm. Her pupils usually stay down, pretty much where they are supposed to be, but her eyes do roll back sometimes - it seems to happen when she’s overstimulated.
This evening she was storming pretty hard, her heart-rate was up real high. We basically have to change her bed whenever she storms, because she’s so sweaty. This is just another stage she goes through in her recovery, but that doesn’t mean it has to last any longer! PLEASE PRAY that Anna’s parasympathetic nervous system kicks in, and she makes rapid progress through this stage! Pray that God’s peace will be with her in a mighty way.
The latest word from the docs is that we are still 1-2 weeks away from being ready to go home, because of the storming and needing to get Anna stabilized on her medication. We are interested to go to the neurological or rehab floor for a while, but right now they don’t have any beds. There may well be other children who need those beds more than Anna does, but the Lord knows, so please pray that His will would be done.
Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me." When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go." Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, put their faith in him.
God bless,
Richard
