We went over to St. Rita’s this afternoon, and Anna got measured for a chair. It’ll take a few months to arrive, so Lord willing we’ll never need it!!! She is doing well with her Passy-Muir valve at the moment (the valve that allows her to breathe in through the trach, but forces her to breathe out through the mouth). It’s real interesting to watch her, because when she gets stressed, she has a real hard time breathing, but when she relaxes she can breathe easily. Today it seemed that she was beginning to learn to relax with it on. PLEASE PRAY that she learns this quickly!!! In general she is continuing to become less tense – she still has a ways to go, but she is progressing slowly but steadily. Lael notices a real difference the days she has the hyperbaric treatment – she is more relaxed those days.
Miss Em had a good birthday today – she got the day off school thanks to dense fog this morning, lots of Littlest Pet Shop toys, and a wonderful birthday cake made by wonderful Mary (I uploaded a picture). We thank God for her, and pray she has a fantastic year!
Tomorrow, back to Wauseon.
God bless,
Richard
