| Anna Grylls update Tuesday 10pm

Today was a pretty rough day (for us, anyway, Anna seemed to be OK with it!). Our nurse was sick last night and didn’t come, so I was up with Anna from midnight, through the night. Lael covered the morning while I slept, and when I got up I had several urgent voicemails from the doctor’s office, saying we needed to go to the emergency room concerning Anna’s swollen leg. So we took her in this afternoon, and spent 4 hours working out that the swelling in her leg is fluid build-up, probably because of a strain. The best we can work out is that maybe someone put her leg under too much stress while doing her range-of-motion exercises.
It seems God again is blessing us in amazing abundance with provision of therapists. We’re not sure of the details yet, but it seems Anna will basically be able to receive as much in-home therapy as she needs (i.e. it won’t be limited to, say, twice a week for financial reasons). Hopefully that means we’ll have someone come every weekday to work with her.
We are again working on down-sizing Anna’s trach, after the aborted attempt while in the hospital. She is managing her secretions much better, and she is clearly using way too much of her limited brain-power just concentrating on breathing, so we want to really try to do all we can to make it easier for her. PLEASE PRAY that this process goes well!
If anyone knows anything about hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a treatment for anoxic brain injury, please let us know.
THANK-YOU JESUS FOR HEALING ANNIE B!!!!
God bless,
Richard
