| Anna Grylls update Thursday
|
|
|
Anna is doing just fine at the moment. She had an “official” oxygen test the other night, and of course passed, so today all her oxygen equipment will be taken away. By faith, it will never return!
She is moving more while she sleeps – a couple nights ago, she rolled from her back to her side, and then a while later she rolled back from her side to her back. But when she wakes up her tone sets in, and she stiffens up, and then can’t move much at all, because she’s just tense all the time. If she would just relax while awake like she does when she’s asleep…!
Otherwise in general, not much change. We have been working hard on her back, trying to stop it from bending backwards so much. So far it looks better. We have an appointment with an orthopedic doc next week to find out how it’s doing. Her lower ribs were sticking out an awful lot (which is a sign of a poorly-shaped back), but they seem to be doing better now after much stretching. PLEASE PRAY that her back stays OK and doesn’t need intervention.
Lael and I got to spend the weekend away to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, which was last Thursday. We had a lovely time in Saugatuck, MI. Many thanks to Sarah Mast and Liz for looking after all our kids for the weekend! Many thanks to Shaun at The Belvedere for helping make it such a wonderful weekend! And many thanks to my Auntie Jenny for financial assistance!
I don’t say it too often, but we really appreciate all of you who post comments on this blog. We find them very encouraging, and thank you very much!
Thank you Jesus for healing Annie B!
God bless,
Richard

More encouraging news. Maybe not as much as we would like, but it's progress. So very glad you both got away for the weekend. I can't think of two people who deserve it more. Please God the next few months will show even more improvement. We continue to pray over here for Anna's waking. God bless.

I don't look in too often, it is difficult for me, my personal losses are revisited in yours and Anna's struggles. I continue to pray for all of you. I am heartened to read that she is breathing well, on her own. Congratulations on 15 years of marriage!

My eyes welled up with just the few blogs of yours that I read. I started a blog on here back in January when my son was very ill. It's the most challenging thing to go through. I see you hold strong to your faith and I truly believe that prayer is what brought my little boy back to me. I will pray for your little girls return to you healthy and happy because those are the only things that truly matter. Take care of eachother. God Bless you

I love reading updates on Anna. I pray for her to relax when she's awake as well as when she's asleep. I pray that her back will straighten out and she will soon be the laughing lovely Anna she was before the accident.
I'm glad that you and your wife were able to enjoy your 15th anniversary, congratulations!
Praise God for Anna passing her oxygen test!
My best,
Whitney

I haven't been on here for awhile and just read your last few postings. All I can say is Praise be to the Almighty for the strength and faith He has given to you and Lael. May He continue to lead you and guide you on your journey.
It's hard to believe it's been over 15 years since we met you and you carried Lael away!!
We love you guys!
Shelley
