Anna is feeling better from her infection. Her blood oxygen level isn’t as high as it has been, but she’s not doing too badly - she didn’t need any oxygen last night, Praise God! We finally got some Ambien for her last Thursday (on her birthday), but so far there’s no sign that it is having any effect at all – either to wake her up, or put her to sleep…!
I was trying to think of an adjective to describe her birthday, like “nice”, but I couldn’t think of a good one, so I would have to call it “mixed”. We really enjoyed and appreciated Sarah, Mary and Martha coming over with presents, balloons, cake and cookies in the afternoon. But it was a little hard when we were trying to get her to blow out her candle that evening. Bliz, Jake, Em and Bubba enjoyed it, which was a blessing.
The Annie B Flower Garden is all dug out and ready for planting – if anyone has some good ideas for plants to put in it, please let me know! It’s about 6 feet diameter, in full sun in the summer. Thanks!
We had our every-few-months meeting to discuss therapies and goals for Anna for the next few months with the wonderful folks from our local state agency this week. The coordinator asks various questions, the first one was “Is there anything that you are finding difficult because of Anna’s condition?” Lael and I both looked at each other, then at the same time said “Life!”
Thank you Jesus for healing Annie B!
God bless,
Richard |

I guess the important thing to thank God for is that Anna is still here, still making that journey, slowly but surely. It makes me so sad when I look at my own little grandson and realise that Anna's accident took place when she was just his age. I just keep on praying that there will be tiny improvements each month so by the time of her 3rd birthday, the picture will look a little brighter. God bless you all as you pass another milestone.

Just want you to know that we continually think of you all and still say daily prayers for Anna. Wish we knew more of what we could do or say to help. Just wanted to remind you that she stays close to our hearts and we are still with you in our prayers.

Hey Richard and Lael, the 'puter was down for a bit but rest assured, we are still praying for you every week. If it doesn't come up, Cameron Bowles raises his hand and reminds us. It's hard to know why God chose you to minister in this way, but rest assured that He is doing a ministry through your family and He will receive the glory for it. Be strong and encouraged. We love you.
