Anna was on the IV fluids all day today, but started back on formula just now. By the end of the night she should be back on full formula, and off the IV. She did pretty well today on reduced clonidine, so she’s going to be weaned off it. PLEASE PRAY that she continues to do well with reduced heart rate and lower blood pressure.
I got to change Anna’s trach this afternoon. Piece of cake J
It seems the doctors here are getting keen for us to leave – they aren’t paying so much attention to Anna any more, it’s becoming more of a challenge to get them to think about what they’re doing. I spent over an hour this morning graphing Anna’s 2-week blood pressure history so I could challenge their quick and somewhat misleading analysis of her trends. If any of you are getting bored studying statistics in high school or college, don’t give up! It may come in useful some day!!! We also almost had her trach fall out today… and a bunch of other little things.
We’re now not sure when we might get to go home. It could still be any day, but it could be a few days.
Our usual prayer requests still stand – Anna’s neurological condition hasn’t changed much lately. ALSO, her pupils, which at times have responded well to a light being shined in them, have not responded at all in the last few days. PLEASE PRAY that they would again respond to light!!!
Which could all be kind of discouraging, but then I get to reading another wonderful post on this blog by Sis. Erickson in Israel (“scribe”), and it’s kind of hard to be discouraged. This is an excerpt: “Anyway we had hours and days when it seemed like the only steps we took were backwards BUT we had an unbreakable promise.....every wit whole, body, soul, mind and spirit. The Almighty did wonderful things for everyone who shared and shares Ori's miracle. I can see the same thing happening with you and Anna....miracles abound and how priveledged to be apart of one....”
God bless,
Richard

Like it's been said before. satan knows he is going down. He may muster everything he has for a couple of last jabs but we know it's in vain.
I put links to a couple of the songs we talked about in my blog. Just visit my blog and it's on the right hand side. I hope they are a blessing to you.
I'm glad the trach change went well. May everything else you have to learn be the same.
Much love,
Larry & Deb

I was glad to see the links posted to those wonderful songs. Here is the chorus to a song that has been on my heart for a few days
GOD WANTS TO HEAR YOU SING
God wants to hear you sing
When the waves are crashing ’round you
When the fiery darts surround you
When despair is all you see
God wants to hear your voice
When the wisest man has spoken
And says, “Your circumstance is as hopeless as can be”
That’s when God wants to hear you sing
Every time I hear the phrase, "...when the wisest man has spoken...your circumstance is hopeless...", it makes me think of little Anna and how you all are hanging on and claiming the victory.
Keep singing! God wants to hear it. He inhabits the praise of his people. We are claiming the victory with you.

Even though it may appear to the naked eye that nothing is being accomplished, in the unseen realm, PLENTY is being accomplished. Before what is seen with the eye, is actually seen, much is being repaired and rerouted...that is how the brain heals itself. God designed it that way, that it COULD AND CAN BE rerouted. We are continuing to believe for that and that God will make all the connections complete. That is why you need not be discouraged when nothing is being seen with the naked eye...GOD is rewiring the hardware... : ) but when it's complete, you see the results of it, one connection at a time... like it was with Benjamin, some days nothing, then all of a sudden, a day comes and bam! all kinds of new things happening. : ) God's healing touch. One circuit at a time. : ) Keep on keeping on. Soon you will be home and on the road to complete recovery. Our prayers continue both day and night.
