| Anna Grylls update Friday 6am

I posted a couple new pictures of Anna at www.thoughts.com/rgrylls/blog, she’s dressed up and ready to go to Columbus to see the trach lady! I always prefer driving 2 hours to see someone who knows what they’re talking about than drive 5 minutes and get bad advice. We had a good discussion with the trach lady about continuing the process to remove Anna’s trach. We worked out a plan, which is that we are going to cap off her trach completely and have her breathe entirely through her nose and mouth, and work on increasing the amount of time she can tolerate doing that. I put the cap on her while she was sleeping on our way home, and PRAISE GOD she just carried on sleeping, and breathed through her nose just fine! The basic problem seems to be that she has learned to breathe through her trach, and breathing through her mouth is harder and weird, so she doesn’t like it so much, and needs to be trained to do it. PLEASE PRAY that she learns quickly and we have patience and courage to teach her!
One other really neat thing is that Anna is now much better at controlling her temperature. Now she often wears a shirt, and rarely breaks a sweat. PRAISE GOD!! She used to sweat almost continuously.
Our nurse can’t make it for the next three nights, and the agency is not providing anyone to cover. PRAISE GOD that Liz is able to stay with us and help. She is just a tremendous blessing, we are so thankful for her care and love for Anna.
God bless,
Richard

Hey, after that comment about "my reward" I owed you one (SMILE!!!) You'll never be lucky enough for me to only say one or two words. It's just not in me (smile)!! I just wanted to show you I could do it. (smile) Not really.(smile) All kidding aside, I think Anna is darling in pink. Praise God is continuing to heal her nervous system. How is she doing on the new meds? I will be praying she is able to breath thru her nose and mouth normally and get off the trach quickly. How are her gag, cough, swallow. I assume they are doing great if they are weaning her off the trach. Praise God who just keeps crumbling that mountain. I pray God strengthen you for the next three days without a nurse. May God bless Liz for all her help and love to your family. I had a lovely email from Phyllis her grandma. They must be a lovely family. I can't wail to meet all the family of God, my family, when we get to Heaven. What a wonderful time that will be!!!!
Merry Christmas and may God be the center of all our lives during this special season.
Love In Christ,
Sis.Leisa St.John
