Anna Grylls update December 29th #2
Thank you all so much for all the comments, texts, emails, calls, food...   I’m reminded of how I started out the very first blog on Anna, 17 months ago: “We are awed and humbled at the outpouring of love we have felt in the last day over Anna. God's love has been poured out across this country and around the world, and we are so blessed to be a part of His family.”

We slept a lot today - the last week has been exhausting. It was a kind of emotional day, but in a good way. The children kept us laughing.   I think we all “heard” Anna needing to be suctioned at some point during the day, or went to check on her, only to discover that she wasn't there… We are all just so glad that she is not suffering any more.

Since we spent the day sleeping, we have not been able to make any firm plans regarding Anna’s funeral, but we hope to get it all worked out tomorrow. Our very tentative thought is to have visitation on Friday evening, and funeral service this Saturday, January 3rd. But this is very tentative so please do not buy any airplane tickets yet – we will hopefully confirm everything by tomorrow evening. The location of the service etc. is to be determined but it will be in Lima OH somewhere. Everyone is welcome. Everyone.

For those who can’t make it in person, we are not sure whether we will be able to stream the service live on the internet, but we will at the very least video it and get it online as soon afterwards as we can. We’ll let you know.

We are also working on the question of flowers. We’ll let you know on that also.

The strangest part of the day came at 7pm this evening. Stephanie (Anna’s nurse for tonight) didn’t come walking through the door…

I will keep posting on this blog at least until after the funeral, and until all is said that needs to be said.

Anna’s life, and death, are to the Glory of God!  Thank you Jesus for healing Annie B!

God bless,

Richard

You and your family have been a true testimony and a great inspiration to all who have had the honor of getting to know you through this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now as they have been the whole time. Please know there are those of us who will be there in our hearts since we can't be there in person. God bless you all!!

Having a community, like this place to communicate your feelings is really a great healer. Time, family, friends, and the greatest source for healing is God. Please know you are never alone, and you have family, or community, throughout the world.

Out of habit I came back to check this blog before I remembered that little Anna is gone. I wish I could go to her services to give my condolences in person but my thoughts will be with you and your family.

Little Footprints by Dorothy Ferusson
How very softly
you tiptoed into our world
almost silently,
only a moment you stayed.
But what an imprint
your footsteps have left upon
our hearts.

Dear brother Richard and family,

I pray that God gives you a deep peace in respect to the passing of your dear little child. I witnessed over the past several months, so many people connected with the seriousness of Anna’s condition and believing on the Lord for her healing. Through the mental waves of faith and inspiration; we should take even more courage for the future, realizing that God is faithful to every promise that He made.

I witnessed my brother take a stand for the word of God a long time ago and he has never waivered in his faith….”Thank you Jesus for healing Anna B” will forever be engraved into my heart and soul. She was a real trooper, going through all she did with all those who sacrificed so much to care for this little girl. One soul is worth 10,000 worlds and this little soul has found her resting place in the arms of the Lord. A real treasure in heaven that I look forward to meeting again! 1 Thes 4:16-20

I was reading a few of the stories in “Guidpost” earlier and as I laid it down it a thought came to me that when tragedy strikes, when people lose their health, when life hands you something you can’t carry on your own, that is when it becomes very evident to a lot of people…God cares. That must be why He allowed Himself to feel pain the way he did! He knows how we feel when we are hurting. The medicine was administered and we all waited patiently for Anna’s healing.. we are all part of a body…. the invisible body of Christ. The strength of God’s merciful touch was very was flowing through those that loved you and administered grace to your life through prayer and even fasting.

I am so thankful that the Grylls opened their home to believers and shared this whole event with the entire world, so that everyone could be apart of a miracle-faith ran it’s course and never let go! Now Anna B has her reward and she is in Christ, never to be tormented again in this life-Hallalujah! We will miss her, especially the children who prayed for her quick recovery over and over.

Here is a little song for my precious brother Richard and his dear family

Let your heart not be troubled, let your mind be at ease
You have found the living waters, As you rest at Jesus feet
We have a course to follow, We have a ground to prove
We are waiting for a change, Let your heart not be moved

We are following the Author, the Finisher of the faith
He will lead us, He will guide us as we learn to seek His face
God is troubling the waters, that we might find His grace

Chorus builder:
Oh His love is everlasting, We need not be ashamed
To call upon the Author, the finisher of the faith
He has called his chosen people, He knows their very name

Do you know the name of Jesus, Do you know amazing grace
There’s a Life that flows from calvary and it’s still as good today
It will heal the broken hearted, it will set the captive free

If we will call upon the author, He will meet our every need
If we call upon the author, the finisher of the faith, We will see His works amongst us,
He will meet our every need …If we call upon the author, the finisher of the faith
There’s no other name that can heal us, there’s no other name to call,
There’s just no name like Jesus, may His dove rest on us All!

It is such a short time since we planted a white rose in memory of Sydney who died on the 12th of this month. Such a beautiful girl who had suffered such a lot in a very short life. Now we will add a little pink rose in memory of Anna beside Sydney's rose. Two girls I never met who have had such an impact on my life. Richard, I think it would be a good thing to continue your blog after the funeral as I believe it will help the healing process and help others who are dealing with similar situations. God has been with you throughout and He will remain with you now, giving you words which will continue your ministry. It doesn't need to be often but it would be so good to know how you are all doing, especially the kids. I never met Anna, but I knew her. God bless.

My heart still aches for Anna and the loss your family must feel. I know that it's a relief to know that she isn't fighting to survive anymore - that she's in Heaven laughing and running. My hopes were for that on Earth but God said otherwise.
Anna's life was one that was so special that it brought people back to God and together as a whole. A family of sorts.
God Bless Anna and your family

There's not much that could be added to these wonderful, caring comments. I too have followed and prayed for Anna and her family. The testimony of the spiritual strength that comes from The Lord has ever been manifested. I am reminded of the song Lael sang in church many years ago - "This Warrior is a Child", I think is the name of it. It moved me so then, and I'm sure you both will be "running" to your "Father" in the days to come, and we know that He is there for all who love Anna.
God bless you,

I found my self about to pray for Anna last night, then I remembered she had left us. I woke up and my first thought was I wonder how Anna is doing this morning, and then I remembered she had gone. I sure miss you little girl. You're forever engraved on our hearts and we look forward to meeting you again some day. God Bless the Grylls family and thank you for letting us be a part of your lives.

Dearest Richard- I have only jumped onto this website recently and had come across your blog(s). Your strength to healthily note all of your emotions and thoughts into this blog, is a true testament to you as an individual. I have a daughter who will be two in March and to imagine this experience is beyond difficult.

May God love you and keep you as with Annie's sweet and dear life. My sweetest of prayers are with you and yours at this time and forever.
