 I find it quite interesting,
There are so many people that are constantly complaining about America. Speaking of how unfair it is. Talking about theĀ  so called 'act on terrorism' and doing things such as protesting this 'act on terrorism'. Well when I reach the age where I am able to vote I shall register as a Democrat but let me tell you something. I do not agree with the way I see many people, especially democrats acting.

I see them protesting the war and yelling crude remarks at soldiers who are around on leave. How absolutely disrespectful can someone get? Yes, I do not agree on the war that is on hand but what is protesting going to do about it? Nothing. The answer is nothing. If you want to make a difference there are better ways then getting high and standing around with a sign chanting about peace.

These soldiers that get treated so poorly by the people who are against the war did nothing to deserve what is being done to them. In my town we had a group of protestors protest at a funeral of a soldier who died in Afghanistan. These soldiers are the reason that we have the freedoms that we do.

Although there are definitely terrible things about America look at some of the other areas. Go to Africa and see how the warlords treat you if you protest a war. Somehow I doubt that you would live to tell the tale.

At least we have the freedom to say what we want to say. Right now as I am typing this I am more than grateful that I have the freedom to be able to say such things that I am saying in this post. You don't have to support the President. You don't have to support the war or 'act on terrorism'. But the least you could do is so some respect to the men (and women!) who are fighting for our rights and freedoms. After all its not as though many of them enlisted just to go to Iraq and Afghanistan. I had the oppurtunity to speak with a bunch of recruiters who came to my school and they stated that when they first enlisted they had not anticipated the Iraq/Afghanistan situation to be what it is now, but that is what life handed them so they have to make the best of it. Even though many of them do not agree with the war. It is there job and they said they will do what they have to do.

agreed. people prefer to live under the unintelligent delusion that even the lower heirarchies of a system can be held accountable for the ENTIRE system's mistakes. this is unfair and unjust and the very people who try to care for you ar the people you end up hurting. very wrong...

Arsonists don't like firemen.
Criminals don't like cops.
Cowards don't like soldiers.
What else is new?

Then there are many cowards in the United States. I just think people should show more respect. I mean, I don't think I would be a very good Marine or soldier in general. I have a lot of respect for those men.

I agree with you. I babysit for a couple who are both in the armed forces and the husband is in Afganistan right now. I don't support the war, but I support what our troops are doing, putting thier lives on the line to help our country; I have the upmost respect for them.
