| Things To Do That Make Me Happy
|
|
|
Good evening,
I've been outdoors a lot today, working, but also spending a good bit of time reflecting on all the noticeable things that bring cheer into my life. As I went throughout my chores, so to speak, I unconsciously categorized these things, and the finished product is here. I'd like to ask of my readers, however few of you there may be, to pause for a few moments in your comfortable computer rooms and make a... compilation yourselves. Doesn't need to be written, merely conceived, remembered... relive the blessed seconds of a day long past... not too crazy of a request, eh?
But, if I can add a bit of happiness to the small circle of folks that would take the time to read this, then I'd like to think that I've contributed positively in some small way. Enjoy my collection, I've lived through them all, but more importantly, enjoy yours. :]

Stare into the eyes of an angel.
Sit in a dimly lit room, talk politics with a relative you didn't know was interested.
Get caught.
Watch the fireflies come out in the country.
Check out the night sky, while at a rest stop with Van Halen playing from a car stereo in the background.
Buy a juicer, make your own beverage.
Run away from a party with a beautiful girl and listen to her life story.
Let your drunken uncle tell you about how bad the state of the world is.
Burn a Joe Satriani CD for said uncle, smile stupidly when he tells you that he loves you.
Let your grandfather sit in the car with you as you learn how to drive.
Take his advice. It's better than anything your parents ever tell you.
Buy a blank notebook and fill it with your masterpieces.
Randomly text message someone to tell them that you admire their creativity.
Forget about time and hold someone, because tomorrow, they'll be six months away.
Find, on your dresser, a rock that has "I LUV YOO" penciled on it, and think about crying, but smile instead.
Beatbox with two good friends while wearing marching band uniforms.
Watch a person that you'll never see read their original poetry on Youtube.
Discover meditation.
Write a song, complete with guitar accompaniment.
Hug your 10th-grade English teacher at the local Wal-Mart.
Have a quiet moment for a great artist that has passed away.
Make a wish at 11:11 that she thinks about you when she sees the San Antonio sunset.
Take off running, non-stop, to a secluded place and scream your lungs out because she's not here.
Give your great-grandmother a birthday card, and explain to her who you are.
Get a picture with a virtuoso musician.
Listen to the comedy and thoughts of George Carlin.
Go outdoors when it's raining and take a nice, long sniff.
Watch your mother run over your own dog twice without killing it.
Rejoice in the genius of someone you're close to.
Have some really mean thoughts about the pop music industry.
Have some really mean thoughts about any industry.
Remember the soldiers.
Remember your soldier.
Have a homemade slushie with your crush and hear their plans for the future.
Go for a walk in the park.
Understand the songwriting genius of Bob Dylan.
Ride a 4-wheeler.
Watch a Mel Brooks film.
Find an obscure guitar player (or seventy-nine of them) and wonder why they aren't more popular.
Make your friend laugh so hard that she assumes a very awkward pose while eating a chili dog.
Ride your bike to the nearest store and have a red Vitamin Water.
Arrange a solo jazz composition. Or, do like me and attempt it.
Listen to your sister tell you about drama at her middle school.
Have a panic attack when you're first placed on a twenty year-old horse.
Play an online role-playing game.
Go to a Renaissance festival while you're at it.
Learn something from an unlikely teacher.
Make a vlog.
Find yourself completely floored by how someone makes you feel.
Grow out the fingernails on your right hand.
Have an extended conversation with a homeless person.
Practice parallel parking as your father looks on with worry.
Eat a gas station hamburger.
Make a tie-dye shirt.
Be in awe of Indian culture.
Prepare yourself for the return.

Ok I dont think I can put into words how this made me feel but im going to try. This is, if not the #1 post, in the top 5 of the best piece of writing I have ever read in my life. Not because it is linguistically amazing, but because of the way it made me feel. Reading this post made me feel. This is 100% emotion...not from concentrate :]

This is beautiful... Absolutely great. Smileforthecamera is right... It gave me this great feeling. Like there's still a chance for me to do all the things you have, or the equivalent of them... Stuff that's meaningful to me.
Great, great work... It takes two reads to even begin to properly appreciate this. It's amazing.
