My Vacation

So, I had vacation last week and I spent it with my mom. I flew her in from Florida and put her up in a nice Motel (LaQuinta Inn). We had not seen of each other in three years and the last time we saw each other it was somewhat tense and bitter. Our schedule was pretty tight, I had wanted to get some things done and wanted to show her around (off).

Sunday, 05-25-2008
I went to Bush Intercontinental Airport to pick her up. It was a bad ride. I live like an hour and a half away from it and my A/C in my Jeep was getting low. So on the way up there it was okay, but on the way back it was like an oven. OMG!!! My mom was so happy to see us and we were happy to see her. My kids made little signs and we held them up for her to see. After a lot of tears and hugging we finally made it out of the Airport and started driving home, looking for an opportunity to eat. Finally Luby's. We ate and started our trip back home. It was hot but nice, since my mom and I had plenty to talk about. Arriving late at my home town we put her in her Motel and decided to go to my house for some refreshments. After 9 p.m. we drove her back. Pictures were taken and gifts were handed out. It was a nice reunion.

Monday, 05-26-2008 (Memorial Day)
Early morning I got up and headed out to go to Wal-Mart. I picked up my friends daughter and babysat her all day long. While I was there I decided to pick up a few items for our picnic. I then took the kid and the groceries home and made sure everything was set up. She got a bath and I prepared sandwiches. Meanwhile my b/f showed up as promised and helped me with everything. It was great. On the way to the park we picked up my mom and headed out. We played soccer, football, used the swings and sat around and talked. My mom got to know my b/f and we had a blast watching the kids play and have fun. After 3 p.m. we decided to go back home. I had to give the kid another bath and then took her back to her mom. All exhausted and sleeping. LOL. My kids were tired too. My mom took a nap and I got started on uploading pictures. It was a lot of them. In the early evening I went and got my mom and then went washing my laundry, it's a Monday Nite thing...We had a huge Sonic Meal.

Tuesday, 05-27-2008
Determined to get my Jeep looking fresh, I went and dropped it off for a limo-tint service. I had to rent a car since I needed more work done the next day. My kids biggest day!!! Graduation. I took my mom to eat in a cajun restaurant, one of my customers business. Then we went to the school all dressed up and had to sit and watch kids getting their awards for almost two hours. After that we went to the mall and strolled around a bit. In the evening we got my mom changed into some comfy clothes and headed back to my house where I ordered pizza and left my mom with my kids to watch. My b/f took me out to a fancy restaurant, just the two of us. After a couple of hours we came home and had a wonderful evening with my mom. She even gave him a little speech of taking care of me and asked him if he loved me.

Wednesday, 05-28-2008
After getting some chiropractic work done on my back we headed to Wal-Mart to get some stuff for the kids. Summer clothes. After shopping we found out that my Jeep was one pound low on Refrigerant and it got fixed. A/C after all. Yeay. Then I told my mom about this great BBQ place and had a great lunch. Dropped off our shopping bags and then went to the movies: Indiana Jones. We had a blast. As a treat we had some McDonald's Ice Cream.

Thursday, 05-29-2008
Last day of the rental car. Had to give it up. It was nice while it lasted. A very unplanned day. I decided to get my hair done and since we had to pick the kids up from school early, lunch was served at IHOP. After that we got the kids and they went to play outside while we took a little nap. Then my moms idea was to have some mexican food. I took her to this little ol' restaurant and come to find out they were having a band and a lot of people were there from my job. My mom had fun drinking, laughing and even requested a song. I even had a drink. I was told by my mom: It is the best vacation in the past ten years. WOW!!! Since we came home late I left the kids at my moms Motel. I was exhausted myself and tired.

Friday, 05-30-2008
Last appointment for this week was another one of my chiropractic appointments. After that we tried to go to the RecCenter but it was closed for recreational use until after lunch so we decided to use the pool at the Motel. It was great. Shot a movie too. My kids enjoyed themselves. Lunch was lite. Potato Salad and a side of scrambled eggs. We parted until dinner and then I took my mom out to the Olive Garden for our last dinner. My boyfriends family showed up as well and we treated each other to a great evening. My b/f and I were suppose to pay for the dinner and my mom turned tables and payed for it instead thanking us for a great week and a wonderful vacation. Slick Woman!!! A lot of pictures were taken.

Saturday, 05-31-2008
We had to get up early to make another trip to the airport. As a present I gave my mom a DVD with our pictures on it and two movies. She loved it. The ride was short and we made a quick good bye scene at the sidewalk. A little crying and a lot of hugging. I am glad I got to see my mom and we enjoyed each others company.

My b/f really likes my mom and she likes him. I am glad. Now I am back at work and am tired already. It is hot and the store does not seem to have cold air. OH well.
