MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
I am beyond angry right now. I have recently just taken notice that my FAVOURTIE band has been blamed for a 13 year old girls suicide
I want people to know that I am terribly sorry for this horrible incident, and my heart go's out to her family, and I am sorry for their loss.
I am angry that MCR ( My Chemical Romance) and the WORD " emo" have been blamed for her suicied.
They said in one article " .... The Black Parade, is a nickname for the place Emo fans belive they will go when they die "
WTF. where did they get that from. Thats not what it is. Frontman. Gerard Way has repetedly said. that " The Black parade" ( Album title) is somethign he belives HE will experience when HE passes on. It is somethign he deeply feels. MCR is not forcing this idea on anyone The Album is a concept album about " The Paitent" ...
My Chemical Romance is anti-suicide, they are out their trying to help kids. Coprate America's scared. They dont have the anwers, so they blame lyrics written by a group, and they balm a WORD they is sorally mistaken and missused.
I Have said before that the word emo bothers me. and it really does. who came up with it? hmm
People say " The Emo phenomenon began in the US in the 1980's, It is a largley teenage trend and is characterised by depression self-injury and suicide."
NO , someone gave the name emo to someone that is suicidle, or depressed. Now the whole world calls you emo( emotionaly hardcore) if you so much as wear thick eyeliner or dark clothes.. riciculous. Now they are blaming a girls suicide on a WORD and a Band.
I am discusted by the world today, Do we blame pop music for the reason Madonna is so old? Do we blame World hunger on Regge? Emo is A genre of music. Stop blaming it for every suicide or self-harm.
I dont think it is fair that MCR is being balmed or having fingers pointed at for this. They do not encourage suicide, They are trying to fight agaisnt it.
I understand that the parents of this girl are no doubt in complete shock. and I feel for them
But the reporters that coverd this story really need to get their facts staraight.. You cant go making accuasations like that. What they said didnt even make sense. Did they even Speak to anyone from MCR to find out what they feel about this. OR what they are really about.
I listen to MCR Everyday., and i am not suicidel . I am no longer a self hamer because of the powerfullness they bring and the help they give. Along witht he help of someone I am very close to.
I know this is conterversial. But i needed to say it becuase I am Very angerd by this.
I wish people would just think before they start pointing fingers. How would you like it if you were BLAMED for some ones suicide.. ?

I agree that media shouldn't blame the music, but should blame parents or the people that do this to themselves for what they do.
But yes, I'm insulting your favorite band and this 'emo' bullshit.
