 Republicans Grumpy Old Men
The Republicans are really sore losers, I guess when the majority of the members are white and over sixty you can't help but to be dellusional and grumpy. Again and again they mislead the public with lies and disruptive measures not putting the country first only their agenda's.

Wednesday night as the President address the nation we saw an outburst from one Joe Wilson calling the President a 'liar', even in England where behaviour like this is common place he would have being thrown out. There are many ways that he could have shown his disagreement (more like disgust of the President) but it has become a Republican custom to yell and shout instead of to reason and debate. What next will they start to bring guns too?

Attacking the Presidents character over and over one cannot help but to think is it just political or does it has racist connotations. With politicains like Joe Wilson how can this country ever truly unite under the red, white and blue flag?

Again and again the President leaves the door opened for suggestions and productive debates on this issue which is so important to the American people, yet every situation is being use as a political tool to score points and to drown out the debates at the Town Hall meetings.  We the undecided want to hear your options and imput but in a civilised way the barking and childish behaviour will not work.

Not one Republican has put forward a bill that is better and more efficent at sloving some of the immedaite problems all I can hear is 'NO'  they have become the party of 'NO WE CAN'T'. So I guess the President should follow their advice when their only motive is to destroy his Presidency. Pity the fools.

Your views are really bizarre and slanted. Always play that race card, that never gets old!

Hmmm, I suppose some republicans are the way to discribed but in reality not all are that way. I am a moderate republican. I am 17 years old, I am bi, and I am 'goth' (You know those kids that dress like its halloween everday of the week xD I dont know if your young enough to know what goth is.) Though I will admit that while Obama was giving his speech to the 'students' My friends an I (even some teacher) started singing the theme song to happy days. It was either sing or fall to sleep.

Your blog was bias but arent all blogs? So I cant really call it immature, now can I? Though when it comes to politics most 'grown ups' arent mature. I fear this country being in the old peeps hands. Pity the fools.

So I'm not the only one that thinks Obama & Ron Howard were separated at birth.
The Democratic party was created by Thomas Jefferson and is nothing like the party which he began.
The Republican party was created to champion abolitionist causes and promote industry as we see they haven't strayed very far from their origin's as yet. A person could much more easily get me to agree the Republican party is sexist than racist but the same could even more effectively be said about the Democratic party. My personal view is that the 2 parties are the 2 faces of a Janus party a single group of people who like things the way they are and through having mastered media politics....

I would recruit you and anyone else who wants political reform and social change to become vocal Libertarians: conservation not because big gay Al does it but because it's the smart thing to do, respect for the literal Constitution because too much intelligent effort and blood went in to creating it for us to allow Congress to interpret it into obsolescence, & peace because war profits only the munitions manufacturers. Sure there are some fringe agendas attached to the party but they're not bad just easy to poke fun at by people with no serious replies and much to lose if the topic is seriously entertained.

The important thing is that you're involved.

In England one may not call another politician a liar. It is not done. Furthermore, I do not think it is progressive or respectful to make such racist and ageist comments (eg, white and over sixty you can't help but to be dellusional and grumpy). If you wish to bemoan the lack of respect and good manners in political debate, do you not agree that it would be useful to demonstrate such behaviour oneself?

I agree (with stevehayes13) its not progressive or respectful but it's a response to the rage ignited by their ignorance. I should have known better.

Moreover there are many more examples of similar behavior from both of the dominant parties not just one side, this is how they "play" their games with our rights. Let us not forget the slanderous comments about the intelligence of a Yale grad by another Yale grad who had a similar GPA. Let's not forget the endless lawsuits of Al Gore. The cries of Philanderer which were uttered at the election of Bill Clinton were followed by Philandering so maybe that's a poor example but, really to claim racism at the party saw to it's fruition the abolitionist movement racist while clinging to the party which after the Civil War has been the initiator of all segregationist racist laws enacted by Congress is well ironic. Personally I don't trust either party as they've been washing each other's backs so long they could be tossed out of the military under the "Don't ask don't tell" policy nor do I trust Congress to create a responsible nationalized healthcare system and I suspect the sanity of anyone who does. The 1st step in my opinion is for the Government to say the truth "we're not doctors, we don't know what to do, so we're going to let the professionals in charitable healthcare groups design the system for us with the aide of our military doctors to assure bottom up and top down integrity in the new system. When I was told the president was going to be asking children what they were going to do to help him fix the economy, I too thought the time could be better spent. Propagandist media based advertisements forced on children is not different than prayer in school and should be tolerated no more nor less. I am considerably more open when a personal visit is in question as regardless of his message it's a chance to meet the president. I didn't vote for Obama it had nothing to do with his race, I simply don't trust Democrats,... I don't trust Republicans either but, I'd have voted for Collin Powell, as it is the last 2 elections I've voted for Libertarians, it's funny to me that we get a candidate certified every election, we're the 3rd largest party in the nation but, the "news" media won't let us attend any of the final debates, if the TV were your only source for information you'd never know there were other viable parties. This seems to be a more reasonable target for your rage as opposed to a party of several million whom you demonize by the acts of just one. Teddy Kennedy slept through many a republican State of the union address, Those damned rude poor sport Democrats. Bill Maher said it quite well the Democrats own clear majorities in both the House & the Senate as well as the Oval Office so what do they care what Republicans think? They appear to not want to do anything but, are at a loss as to how to lay the blame for their inactivity at the feet of the Republican party. When the positions were reversed the Republicans got quite a bit done(good or bad) so it can't be that it's not possible, it has to be a lack of desire on the part of the Democrats... unless your think Dick Cheney has the Obama girls locked in a spider hole somewhere in Wyoming as bargaining chips. I don't doubt that Dick would do it but, if you think he has you might want to refill your meds & call a doctor. My final urging is quit buying into their WWF style obfuscations and look at the fact that they can't act without biting at least one of the hands that feeds them so they'd rather not act. Once you realize this you may also crave a 3rd party to subvert the dominant 2. Until then you will be their puppet with your emotions as strings, at least you'll have plenty of company.
