I once got my sister a birthday card that read: "Somethings are worse than birthdays... Mom could still be cutting our bangs." We got a good laugh because we both knew it was true! In so many kid pictures of me, I looked like a boy because my bangs were waaaay too short! What was she thinking? Only Audrey Hepburn could wear short bangs like that.
I'm still tortured by the hair I had in 6th grade. My mom was still dictating my hair style. She told the hairdresser to make the top and sides of my head short and long in the back. I didn't know it at the time, but this hairdo was called a "mullet." So... (sigh) in my 6th grade school picture, I look like Doogie Houser, MD with a mullet (and bangs that were too short, that didn't help).
Growing out this "mullet" was not fun either, as the hair on the top and sides of my head grew longer, my head looked bigger! This was a terrible thing to do to a kid at such an awkard age!!!
If only I had help from clip in hair extensions, to help me get through the growing out phase when my hair was too short to put back. It would have really helped me recover from my mullet grow-out.
Do you have a haircut nightmare story too? Let me know and I'll see if you had it as bad (or worse) than I did.
