This entry should probably be put on the list of things that I think to myself but don't actually tell anyone. However, I apparently burned that list long ago, and so here it goes.
Not too long ago, I made a gruesome discovery. I learned that there a brand of tampons which has motivational sayings printed on the wrappers. It's apparently insufficient to advertise, "Have a happy period!" and so now there are actually individually wrapped tampons with such inspiring quotes as, "The sky's the limit!" printed on the sides.
We have Playtex Sport to thank for this new product.
It is especially refreshing how so many of the sayings are centered around exercise, because that is precisely what women feel like doing at such a time.
I'd like to meet the person responsible for this, just to say, what were you thinking? Really, did you expect that women everywhere were going to gain sudden motivation, enlightenment, and their periods all at the same time?
Which, I suppose, is fine. There's plenty of enlightenment made available by pain and suffering. Native Americans created sweat lodges for men so that they might have the same opportunity for spirituality as women have during their 'moon time'. But for the love of god. Anyone who prints, "Go on out there and show 'em what you've got!" on a tampon wrapper is just out of their mind.

I like playtex, but I've never used the sport ones. Maybe I should. I need a little bit of motivation.
