 I'm a loser
I'm so pissed off at myself right now.  Life is spanking my ass.

Example:
  1. My son missed his art class because I didn't call ahead a register him.  He really wanted to go.
  2. My bank account is overdrawn by $700+  because I lost track of my money.
  3. I didn't get to video my son's Christmas program at church or opening Christmas presents because I didn't plug in the camcorder ahead of time or buy tapes.
  4. My Christmas cards are still sitting on my desk, waiting to be mailed.
  5. I haven't ordered my brother, sister, or in-laws presents yet, although I told them they're in the mail.
  6. I haven't done taxes for 2 years.

So, none of this is absolutely, life-endingly  horrible.  I just feel really awful.  It's all due to my severe lack of organization.

So, how am I going to fix this?  I'm working on it.  I've started a house management notebook thing.  It has a calendar and cleaning schedules and stuff in it.  I'm trying to follow this and I have a target list of things to get done before the new year starts.  I have to get my life on track.  I REALLY NEED to get it together or I am going to spontaneously combust.

I've been there. Sometimes it helps to just take a deep breath and handle one thing at a time. Don't start something else until you've completed something else. As far as being - $700 in your acct, is there a way you can call the bank and have them refund the overdraft fees? I did that last year, I was -$900 and they refunded all the over draft fee's.

Greetings from one organizationally challenged mother to another. Do you have a partner or are you a single parent? If you have a partner, ask for help. If you do and have and don't get it, then that's another blog. Sometimes the "senior moments" of forgetting and losing track are due to a biological based depression and meds are a good thing. Sometimes it is because there is actually to much on your plate. It is true that you can only do so much. Take a quiet moment and write down all of your responsibilities. Prioritize them. Let go of what you can let go of. What saves my life is the "Mom's Plan-it, Listmaker Weekly Calendar". It's great. It is magnetic and hangs on the refrigerator. I write everything down on this. When a note comes home from school saying there is a band concert two weeks from now, I write it down and everything that needs to be done to get ready for it. Each week gets torn off when it's done, so everything is broken down into one week at a time-small, manageable tasks. It also gives you an idea of how much you have to do and it gives the family an idea of the pressure you are under. Bills, activities, everything. Also, take the advice from "Whitters". Call the bank and see what they will do for you. Somewhat humbling, but maybe worth it.
