| Economics and obsolete systems |
|
I am studying Economics and Environmental studies at the University of Victoria. Right now I am finishing up another Macro-Econ assignment. The concepts are mindlessly simple, and I originially thought that by studying this I could get into Environmental Policy design or something similar. The more I study, though, and the more I disagree with the premises behind the theories, the thing that gets to me is that I do not want Economics as we know it to continue. As a way of explaining the world, I think the study of economics is archaic and outdated, and fast becoming irrelevant. It is difficult for me to guage how and when we will stop putting so much emphasis on economic theory, so I can't tell if it is worthwhile for me to even study this. On the other hand, if it is going to be around for a while and things have to get done within the system, then perhaps it could come in handy.
