How do we get free from the depravity of human nature?
I was raised a calvinist presbyterian. I was taught to believe in the total depravity of fallen
human nature. I no longer believe this article of dogmatic faith. I believe that depravity is
not natural, that depravity is cultivated and nurtured by education and environment. For
example, I believe that competitive capitalism encourages, fosters, and promotes those
immoral perversions which have become the respectable and reputable virtues of modern
capitalist civilization.
