I don't see capitalists (of which I am one) as "ruthless", so much. But I do think that the concern
for those in need of help (hand-up, not hand-out) is dangerously low in a capitalist society.
Ron Allen answers:
Capitalism is ruthless. To become a capitalist, you must be ruthless. To be a successful
capitalist you must be ruthless.

Again, I wonder what other insurance, on top of the four that I already paid for, was I missing
that would have actually treated me, and returned me to my previous tax paying position in
society. I must have missed something.
True. socialism operates best under the support of surrendered earnings.
Ron Allen answers:
I do not agree with this notion of socialism. What do you mean by "surrendered earnings"?
There is no wage system endemic to socialism. There is no taxation in socialism. There is
no need for money in socialism. If there is no money, then there are no wages, and there are
no taxes.

But I've paid HUGE amounts of taxes in my life, and worked unGodly hours for decades. Can't I
just get treatment (which I've already paid for)? Please try to understand - it often (though I don't
know in your case) seems that only those who go through the wringer understand it, so I can
understand your vision in these matters. Before I was injured, I sounded a lot like you in these
matters. So I'm as guilty as you are. Today, I see a hybrid (or bastardized, if you will) version of
socialism and capitalism, melded together, to provide a better solution. Maybe I'm wrong? I
dunno. But after walking in my shoes, it's clear to me that THIS doesn't work. At all.
Ron Allen answers:
Democratic socialists do not believe bourgeois socialism will work. Democratic socialism is
just another way of naming anarchist communism. Democracy is anarchist; socialism is
communism. Bourgeois socialism is welfare-state liberalism; I do not advocate welfare
programs or welfare policies, because I believe in people working as they are able before they
receive what they need. If private capital were abolished; if the means of production and of
distribution were socialized, then every person who is able to work will be free to work. There
would be no need of welfare. I want the state to be abolished. I want the means of associated
government to be socialized, anarchized, and democratized, so that we the people govern and
police ourselves as free and full citizens, as equal and virtuous citizens living and working
together in a commonwealth republic. A true commonwealth is a republic; a true republic is a
commonwealth. Common wealth is wealth that is publicly owned; it is res publica, a public
thing.
