| Why Is The Word "Gay" Now Used As A Nega |
When you are out with your friends it is only natural that you talk with more slang, and use words not necessarily known to the English language. But what is with people using the word gay, in a negative text.
Like If someone asked you if you liked the show last night, (and you didn't like it) You would respond by saying "Oh It was so gay."
I`m not saying that everyone does this, but a good load of people do. And It`s becoming the new negative word.
Last time I checked gay meant happy or that you are attracted to the same sex.
When you use the word gay in a negative way, It is offensive!
I know I have used it a few times in a negative way. And I am Sorry about that but it`s caught on to peoples vocabulary, and they use it way too much that you`re bound to say it.
Which is why we all need to make a stand for it.
There is no reason for the word gay to be used in a negative way. (no matter what your opinion might be on gay people.)
So the next time you hear someone use it in a negative way. Remind them what the definition is! And say that's very offensive!
