Friday feeling
Friday feeling
What ever the type of week, what ever the circumstances there is an element of euphoric relief I get at the end of a working week. Obviously (and I really don’t want to go on about it) the twins impending departure from these here shores for a whole month is at the forefront of my thoughts at the moment.
Driving home though and thinking about their early start, and their survival through those early months, I found some joy in the fact that my God must have a plan, and the ribbon that weaves through the universe will act accordingly. After all they will have a great time.
I will be home alone (well with Marge), and kind of a bachelor again. See every cloud has a silver lining.
The new VP has started making changes, which does effect me, I have been involved somewhat in the design of some core global systems, representing the front line, on a committee which signs of spend for the next phase of a core piece of equipment , like a new help desk system that kind of thing.
All those positions will now be taken by people in Production Engineering ( the VP’s old area), and I suspect that is good and bad, the technologists will rule, so things will cost more, and be really whizzy, but we won’t be able to sell at price to recover the investments and make a profit, but the customers will like the products.
I have been given some NGO and government departments on top of my manufacturing and retail customers. Suits me, but we shall see how things bed down.
The summer has finally arrived, with temperatures soaring to 28 C, with thunder and lightning and flash floods, some gale force winds, and all this in my lunch hour, no wonder us Brits talk about the weather so much.
Trying to keep to my Motto of being happy today so I will, the twins enjoyed their teddy bear picnic yesterday, and have their swim class tomorrow. Tomorrow evening there is a camping event at school, you can take your tent , and camp up with other parents of pupils there.
I told Mrs G we would just pop in, say hello, grab a hot dog and sing around the camp fire for a couple of hours, but if It hasn’t got five stars the Puck just aint sleeping there!
Sunday ,Parents of A who is a friend of Little V ( and almost as intelligent) have invited us over to a BBQ, so that will be fun I guess? So with all that and stopping by to see how father is, and the usual domestic chores, and some (but not much work work - yayyy) that should keep me pretty busy.
