Tell the Pitts... America has orphans too!!!

I was thinking the other day about how many children there are in the United States that are in group homes and orphanages. I couldn't help but think that, while I have no problem helping people in other countries, that we should probably start trying to clean up our own backyard before we try to help others.
But I can't help but think that as long as there are rich and famous people out there that go out of their way to adopt children from other countries, then the orphans right here in our own country don't stand a chance. Again, it's not that I don't want to help all of those other adorable children, I do. But as long as the orphans in America are watching the tabloids and news channels make such a big deal out of the foreign children that are getting their lives changed forever by being adopted by someone rich and famous, then how can we expect them to have hope?
And until we take these famous people to task for their actions, it will remain "trendy" to look overseas to change lives. There are children of every race, color, creed, and religion that are right here in America waiting for a new home. My life would not be the same without my two beautiful children, they drive me to be a better human being and a better Father than I EVER had...and yes... They are adopted! And I am DADDY!!!
So ladies and gentlemen, if you are considering adoption God bless you. But I urge you... Lokk right here in our own backyard and take your "Pitt" (Oops, I mean pick) !!!
