Yesterday I listened to A Quiet Mind, a podcast by Robert Jackson. He's a Buddhist, I think—not sure.
I've listened to the podcast before, but didn't really get into it. I mean, I did, but I don't think I was ready for what he had to offer.
Now I am. There are something like eighty episodes available, and yesterday I listened to the first one.
It's about acceptance.
His main point is that, before change of any kind can come, you have to accept where you are, who you are, everything about you and your situation, completely. One of the things he said was:
“If you could never change any of the things you want to change about yourself—ever—could you live your life? Could you get on with the living of your life?”
This has given me great pause. I've thought about what he had to say—a lot.
Accepting myself is hard. Especially the part about "If you could never change what you want to change, could you get on with life?"
I think I could--can--but--
It's a scary proposition.
Like I said, I'm now taking this seriously.
Because I want to change.
We'll see where it goes. Robert makes a lot o sense to me. (No, he's not pushing Buddhism, as far as I can tell, nor selling a way to peace; just sharing what he's found.)
ever upward and onward. |

It is very true, self acceptance is needed in order to achieve piece of mind. If you are not happy with yourself, you'll never have peace of mind.....

Thanks for commenting. I'm looking forward to a new chapter. All my old chapters have been too much the same, and not at all happy.
