God listens to prayers - Matthew 7:7-8
I found this in Matthew 7:7-8:

To he who asks it shall be given.
To he who seeks, shall find.
To him who knows, it will be opened.

For years, I just looked at this as three closely related thoughts, but I’ve learned that when Jesus sometimes says a thing three times, He is emphasizing that what He is saying is very important.

Jesus is talking about prayer in this chapter. In these two verses, He is saying that we can completely trust in God to listen to our prayers.

For example, do you ever ask for something without wanting it? Probably not. If you are asking for something, you usually do so with the expectation you will receive what you ask for. If you seek something, and seek it long enough with enough focused effort, you will find it. Most of the time, when you knock on a door, you expect someone to open it.

So, in my opinion, when you pray, you can be assured that God hears you.

I’ve had several instances of praying for something earnestly and receiving an immediate response from God. Most of the time, I pray for months or years before I see the effect of my prayers. On some prayers, I am still waiting. But, I can know because the Bible is true, that God hears all of my prayers.

How about you?

This for me, when I was young, was interesting. My own experience is that you get what god gives you and make the best of it. As for prayer; for me, it is not about asking for anything which one can get by oneself. I believe that a plan is written for everyone and that there are choices. Doors that should not be opened others which should be opened. Life for me is based on intuition. I feel I know what is a good choice although I do make mistakes especially about people.

I find prayer useful in bringing me away from myself and my wants or desires. Therefore I can think more clearly as to what is really necessary. Prayer also is an assertion of faith to God. His hand will come when you least expect it, in the form of a blessing. The intermediary is I believe the Holy Ghost, who hovers close and above you, directing Gods attention towards you. The hand comes quickly and silently and enters the chest and touches ones heart.

This happened to me just before my last birthday. I lay awake most of the night really troubled by something. I was thinking that there was nothing there in this world or anywhere in the universe. Well it happened as I described and now I have an aura above or around my head. Which unfortunately I cannot see, but it does fascinate those who know me and has caused something of a stir here in the town where I live.
