| Stellar Kart best record to date

When Stellar Kart first arrived on 2005 many thought the punk rock formula they delivered had been seen before. Their debut record, All gas, no brake, was good, but nothing really outstanding. The second CD, We can't stand sitting down was a big dissapointment since it didn't offered nothing new. The formula needed a change and at that time Stellar Kart showed no signs of recovery. Fortunately for us, things have changed and with his thirdcoming release, Expect the impossible, a record that is surely going to be among the best of 2008. In this record we can see many influences: The Killers, Relient K, All American Rejects, Yellowcard... A good mixture of sounds that will appeal to a broad number of listeners.
Also, there are profound and ellaborated lyrics here. The right one, a catchy song that tells us to avoid rushings things and wait until the right one comes along, is one of the best songs they've ever written. Innocent is also a great song, telling us to be ourselves and remain free from todays dangers of sin. Shine like the stars offers an optimistic view of what we should do as christians and remembers us we must follow the good path even though sometimes it can be hard. Jesus loves you and Pray are the more openly religious tunes and reminds us Jars of Clay tunes. Eyes, is another big hit, with an 80s base, that invites us to open our eyes and be aware of what is happening in our lifes. The rest of the songs that complete the album, are also decent and prove that the Phoenix Band is well alive and ready too keep rocking. Let us enjoy this gem and wish they keep on this path. |
