| Maelstrom |
I’m trying to stay strong in this maelstrom
Gripping the grains of sand where my faiths from
But my faiths gone hunting like an arrow in the wind
Stabbing through hot air but never seems to gets stuck in
Seems like I’m frozen out of the games I’ve had the heat to win
Hell gets colder as I ever search for end to the game
Players in the frame say don’t hate my fame
Don’t brand us blame because we got to the pinnacle by exploiting names and getting paid
So sometimes it feels like my name is a chain and I’m a slave to the ever ordinary
Beaten by the blame put on talents that ever broaden me
My talents like a sword to me but unless I feed on experience my shoulders aren’t broadening
My backs been broadening and on my knees I’ve been ordering
A blessing from the omnipresent for my every breath is stored in him
See maybe my tests are the steps to the rod that will part my red sea if I learn how to not beat me
Sometimes my eyes are lies that speak, my ears new lands they peep but I gotta learn to wear red and blue instead of living greener than eco warrior
Bringing the heat but staying cool because whether your name be Mario or Daria every man will get his whether its in the first or last year of the storm
And like the wise men following the star to see the special child just born – enemies follow the scent to where the blessings going to fall
Some call it the luck of the draw and inspired bingo call but when your number’s up you got to roll with all
Because when you step to the podium and you say thank you lord
Just remember who held your ship together when your masts were torn
