Two for Tuesday: Write a lessons learned / never learned lesson poem

    In his corner

    Poetry doesn't pay the rent

Transcription is my bread and butter

    Guilty until proven innocent

    I pray for the latter

    Last poem of the challenge.

    My brain is fried.

  • 2010 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 28

Write a "what really happened" poem

    What really happened

    On September 1st, 2001
    Osama Bin Laden
    a man, oh-so-rotten
    was hung by the neck

His ill plans for the U.S.A.
    to this day are displayed
    in the south tower's
    observation deck

    ~AND~

Not what really happened but what COULD happen

    Obama catches Osama

The face of our beaming president
graces every newspaper front page in the nation
while every driver on the road
    honks his/her horn in elation

    Strangers high-five each other
the world is jumping with glee
    It happened ______, __, 201_
A day gone down in history

Thanks to this, we're fat, I reckon

    Whether harmful or nutritious
    her pernil is so delicious
we all come back for seconds

    *Guayaquil (city in Ecuador)
    * pernil (pork)
