| Path of Hate.... |
He knew what had to be done as soon as she stepped out of her Jeep and closed the door. At first she stood there looking around her surroundings for any hint of where he might be. But he knew she would not find him until he was ready to reveal himself to her. He sat there hidden behind some brush in the woods as he watched her looking for him. As he watched those long, tanned, and beautifully shaped legs of hers as she climbed the stairs of the cabin to the front door. Those where the legs that he had been admiring for the past 2 years, the legs that kept him awake at night, the legs that kept him sexually aroused, just as they were doing now.
He was deep in thought of her legs when he heard a sound behind him. He quickly brought himself back to the present as he whipped around just in time to see a small fawn walk past him about 20 yards away. "Hurry up and get out of here your varmint, she cannot know of my where abouts just yet." he thought angrily as he watched to she if she noticed the small deer. But luckily the deer and came and gone out of sight without her noticing him. Relieved he put his concentration back on her, back on his target.
"Derek, oh Derek, are you here?" she yelled as she knocked on the door. She waited to see if she could her anyone inside moving around, but she heard nothing and no one came to the door. She then tried the front door knob and found it to be locked. So then she decided to walk around to the back of the cabin and she if he was there or in that barn she saw as she pulled up. She thought it was odd that did not see his vehicle when she first pulled up but then again he could have parked in the barn she told herself.
Derek.......Derek.....Derek, where are you? he heard her holler. Oh the way she said his name, it just rolled off her tongue and sent chills down his body. Patient, he kept telling himself to just be patient and her time will come. She had taunted him long enough, with those pretty blue eyes of hers and that long dishwater blonde hair of hers. He remembered how she would purposely wear her hair up just to make him agonize over her long soft ivory neck. He will never forget the first time she walked into the office. She was the new clerk, and she was beautiful. It was like the whole room lit up by 3 notches every time she walked in. It took him 1 year and 11 months to build up the courage to ask her out, and when he did she not only just told him no, she laughed as she told him that she was sorry but she already had a boyfriend. He blew up at her immediately yelling, "If you have a boyfriend then why have none of us ever heard or seen him? You have no pictures of him up on your desk, nor have I ever seen anyone send you any flowers. So who is this so called boyfriend of yours and where does he work?" He was screaming so loud at her in the break room that the other co-workers had stopped what they were doing to come to see what the commotion was all about. Her smile of laughter changed to a frightened and anger look as she stood up and responded back sternly, "Derek, I do not know where you get of yelling at me like this, let alone demanding to know anything about my personal life. Even though it is none of your business, I keep my personal life and my work life separate. I do not bring my personal life into work nor do I take my work into my personal life. I was trying to be nice here but I see being nice does not work for you, therefore you leave me with no choice but to end whatever friendship we might of had. Now get out of my way and leave me alone Derek, or I promise you will regret it if you don't." He stood there angry and embarrassed as he realized thatall his co-workers had witnessed or heard what had just happen. It was Friday so Derek grabbed his things and left work early. He drove very recklessly, speeding all the way home. "How dare she lie to me. She has NO boyfriend", he screamed at the steering wheel of his truck. "I mean is there any way I could have missed him?" he thought aloud. No there was no way I could have missed him, I have been watching her for 24 hours a day none stop for a whole month now, he told himself. But just incase he did miss something he was going to re-watch all the surveillance tapes he had of her.
So Derek had spent that weekend watching all of the surveillance tapes he had of her, and once he was done he was completely 100% sure she had no boyfriend or girlfriend of the lesbian persuasion. He looked at the clock on his wall and saw that it was only 2pm that Sunday afternoon. He decided to call her and ask her to please meet him, he wanted to apologize to her and he wanted to explain his outburst. Once her got her on the phone he told her these things, he pleaded for her to forgive him and he told her he needed a friend, someone he could talk to about things he had never told anyone before. She accepted his apology, but thought that he might be better off to talking to a counselor, someone who has experience that can help him. No he had talked to so many counselors when he was a child and none of them ever wanted to help him. All they wanted was to get in his Mother's pants. He told her "No" that if she did not want to talk to him he understood, but he knew if he could not talkto someone today about these things, that he would never be able to find the courage to talk about them again. She had agreed to meet him and asked him where did he live, and he told her how to get the cabin.
He closed his cell phone, grabbed his things including his hunting knife that he strapped to his leg and jumped on his motorcycle and headed to the cabin. He had to get there first and hide. He did not want her to know he was there until it was time. Time for people like her to stop treating people like him as if they were not important, smart, or worthy enough of their time, friendship, or to be in relationship with. He had to put a stop to it, he had been treated like this every since he was born. His mother was a single parent, and she was beautiful. One of the most beautiful people he or any other man had ever seen, and she liked the attention she got that came with her beauty. She often used him as a crutch to get another mans affection, she would tell these men of how her little boy needed a man in his life to teach him the things that a woman couldn't. That was the only time he felt loved by her is when she said things of such, but he came to realize that those words were justempty words as he watched his mother get screwed by every man that came into her bedroom. Growing up he never got to have any friends stay over, her never got to wear the in style clothes because she had to always spend the money on making sure she looked beautiful, he had no childhood, he had no life, so he watched hers, and that is when he noticed how many men she hurt. How she would just use them up and throw them away. And then there were the other men always fighting for attention but because they did not have a lot of money, or they were not good looking enough to her standards she would not give them the time of day. As he grew up so did his hate, and his hate had gotten him into all sorts of trouble, and that trouble landed him into counseling. Finally he thought he would getsomeone else to see what she was doing, but once again he was let down and pushed aside as each counselor he ever saw was not interested in him or what he had to say they were just interested in getting into HER pants.
The sound of his name brought him back once again to the present. Derek........Derek!! She called his name as she stood beside he Jeep once again. He noticed she was looking for something in her purse. It was her cell phone. She was going to call him. He sat there watching her as his cell phone vibrated on his side. A few seconds later he heard the message she was leaving for him. "Derek, this is Susan, and I do not know what joke you are trying to pull, but it is not very funny. I am here at your house, but as I am now realizing you are not here. So ha ha the jokes on me, and now I am going home." She hung up the phone, and when she turned around to get into her jeep he came out of the woods trotting toward her.
"Susan.....Susan please wait. I'm here." She turned around and saw Derek coming toward her from the woods. "Sorry that I was not here to greet you, but my neighbor who is a 78 year old lady, called me needing a hand getting some things out of her attic. She just leaves about a half a mile through the woods. I thought I would be back here in plenty of time, but her few things turned into a lot of things and the time got away from me. I am so sorry, please stay. Startled and a little confused she asked, "How did you know I was leaving?" "Oh well I heard you leave me a message as I was approaching the cabin, it kind of echoes a little around here.” He had already removed his phone from his belt and left it at the bushes. "Oh, ok well no harm. So what was it you was needing to tell someone?" she asked. Well lets go in, I need a drink, would you like something?" "Um.....Ok, yeah some water would be nice." she replied as they approached the cabins front door and he pulled out the house keyto his mothers cabin, the only thing that she had ever given him was this cabin when she died.
As he held the door open for her she walked in admiring the beautiful woodwork inside the cabin. Just as she was about to commit on the cabins beauty he grabbed her from behind and his big hunting knife that had been strapped to his leg was now at her neck. She let out a small scream, and he told her to shut up or he would kill her. She found a little hope in the word "Would" kill her. "I will do whatever it is you want me to Derek, just please don't hurt me." He laughed, "Hurt You, Hurt You", he yelled, "Why is it all you beautiful women think about is yourselves. I'm the one hurt here, not you." "I know I hurt you Derek, and I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt you honestly, I was just trying to let you know in the most pleasant way I could that I already have a boyfriend." "No you don't Susan. You are lying, STOP lying to me." Susan trembled with fear as he screamed at her. "Derek I do have a boyfriend, that is the real reason I turned you down, but if I had met you first I wouldhave said yes." she pleaded with him not to hurt her. Why did she insist on lying. Lies, he could not take no more lies. It was time to end the lies. "No Susan you do not have a boyfriend, I know you do not have a boyfriend, I have been keeping you under surveillance 24 hours a day for the past month." The sudden calmness he had in his voice as he said these words to her chilled her to the bone. "So no Susan you have no boyfriend. You are just like all the other beautiful women in the world, they lie to get what they want. They lie and they lie and they do not care who else gets hurt. If only you were different then maybe you could have saved all the other beautiful women that I now know I must kill." These were the last words Susan heard as his hunting knife sliced right through her skin and into her heart. Derek held her in his arms as he watched the life drain out of her. He then took her out behind the barn and buried her six feet into the ground with some lime. He cleaned hisknife, got his cell phone, and got his bike out of the woods and once again climbing back onto it and drove off knowing there were others he had to kill..........
