Flying monkeys and misc.
Good morning, afternoon or evening.Weather here was windy, rainy and a bit of thunder and lightening through the night.Happily, no blown over trees or flooding in my neck of the woods.I think I did see some flying monkeys lastnight.Either that or it was the cold medicine.I'd really prefer it if it was flying monkeys. Some areas didnt fair as well.Reports of downed trees and some flooding, what a mess to wake up to.

I dont live to far away from Washingtons Crossing. It's where Washington crossed the Deleware into Trenton N.J.When we have heavy rains those folks that live along the river really have a mess to contend with.A friends Aunt lives there, she was flooded out twice in one year.

I am down the street from a beautiful  home, Hope Lodge.www.ushistory.org/hope/index.html I have included this link for anyone interested in taking a look. You can take a virtual tour of the home and it also gives you a history behind the home.I have to say seeing it in person is best.I've been a few times.I especially love the gardens, when the flowers are in bloom its quite the sight.

I've done some traveling here and there.I have some of my favorite places.I  traveled through East Germany before the wall came down. That I have to say was depressing and a bit nerve racking. My Mother still held her German citizenship, she was petrified. The east Germans had held our train for no other reason other than they could. My brother and I had been given Les Schtroumpfs (smurfs) the train conductor kept bothering us, wanting to see the dolls. He at one point took them to show some other train employees. He did eventually return them to us.Still it was weird and unnerving.I can still see the communist slogans on the sides of buildings.Bombed out buildings that had gone unrepaired since the war, a depressing place.East Berlin was not one of my favorite places. Now West Berlin what a city!

Most of my favorite places are in Arizona.Sedona, being top on the list.Unfortunately it has become a new age mecca, lots of metaphysical shops and they have these "vortex" tours.Sedona "was" pristine and mostly an artists colony. Now its red tiled roofs and golf courses as far as the eye can see, a shame really. Heres a website www.visitsedona.com/ I kind of wish people could just visit and not live there. It's really ruined the beauty of it all.

Oak creek canyon and slide rock so much fun as a little kid and big kid.We would wear holes in the butt of of shorts going down slide rock.www.pr.state.az.us/Parks/parkhtml/sliderock.html And in the fall terrific apples!

The Mogollon Rim I'm including this website for the pictures. They used to have Zane Greys cabin on the rim unfortunately it burned down:( www.azcentral.com/travel/arizona/features/articles/archive/m ogollon.html

Cant forget the Grand Canyon. If I had a nickle for the many trips I've made there I'd have a lot of nickles www.nps.gov/grca/  One of the sad things about the park is that you can hand feed the deer.People have been feeding them snacks for so long, that they no longer have fear of humans.Just because something is "cute" doesnt mean its a good idea to go and feed it.

As far as cities go in the states I'm Partial to Seattle.Love that city,Pioneer square, the center house, mono rail,Pikes place public market, love that city. www.cityofseattle.net/html/visitor/

Im outside of Philadelphia and still exploring all she has to offer.Philly is more than just cheese steaks and pretzels.Lots of history,we have a great theater district, south street, the art museum (where Rocky ran up the steps)Heres a Philly link.www.gophila.com/ If you ever have a chance to see a show at the Kimmel center, you wont be dissapointed.Great acoustics!

Ok kids, off I go. Have a great day!
