| Citrus conspiracy/ Go suck on a lemon

I haven't accomplished diddley squat this morning....its not looking to good at the moment to accomplishing anything.....Amazon woman is coming over to hang out......were going to make lemon meringue pies....I had to look up the word "meringue" I don't know the horses ass that decided it should be spelled that way.....Maybe they were having an off day or didn't like meringue......
I don't know about anyone else but when I buy lemons, those suckers go bad fast.....I decided to look up the best way to keep lemons fresh....directions are as follows....keep lemons from touching and in the refrigerator, they WILL keep for up to six weeks.....bullshit.......yep, bullshit......this is what I did....I used the bottom of an egg carton placed the lemons on it, upright, without touching....that was last week....guess what.....that helpful hint can bite my big white butt....doesn't work....
I bought the lemons in a bag....I think the growers and the grocery store are in cahoots.....they are trying to screw me the consumer....and write lies on the internet about proper lemon storage....so now I'm making pies....as if I need pie....good grief....my rant for the week is against citrus growers and grocery chains, may they get the trots and holes in their underwear.....
I could cry, or die or just make pies all day....I'm making pies....if you find yourself in Ambler, come on over for some pie.....goodness knows I don't need it....damn citrus conspiracy.

I absolutely love lemon meringue pies and I think the idiot that spelled meringue the way they did is quite a genious(yep I like the way it is spelled..ha). Wish I could drop by, but you are miles away. Have a great weekend! ..peace :D shemelts

If all else fails, you could always do the Meringue Merengue -

So sorry about your lemon crisis. You could squeeze the juice and freeze it,use it any way you want. Just a thought. We grow lots of lemons and know we are lucky to always have them on hand. They last weeks and weeks on the tree. ;)

Circe I think its because I live on the east coast. I grew up in Arizona, I didn't have problems keeping citrus there. I miss picking them off the tree myself:)

Love lemon meringue pie. :) I have a feeling that they, and other exotic foods, are going to continue going up in price unfortunately as the costs of transportation keep going up. Time to stock up on pie now! :)

Oh I could cry - lemon meringue pie is my all time favourite and I'm on the protein diet. There's a furniture store in town that has a coffee shop which does the most amazing home baked LMP - I never look at the furniture, but boy do I look at that pie. Good luck with the lemons Pita

Yay Gwatlan! I'm happy to hear I'm not alone in not liking the way meringue is spelled! They do turn bad quickly, If I don't use them within a few days they get icky.

Lastblast my pie came out looking like lemon squeezings. The meringue looked like a light coating of spackle. You're welcome to come to my house and make lemon chiffon/meringue pie anytime:)
