First off I'd like to welcome my kid back LuckyLuci:) It's so good to see you back girl. Your home coming leads me into todays events at work.....
I'm an animal lover, if its covered in fur I'm smitten. Love at first sight. No Luc I'm not refering to you as an animal:) Your like a daughter to me and I think the world about you. I'm outside sitting on my stoop (has my ass groove already ingrained upon it) having my morning cancer stick. I hear this loud peeping. I look around it sounds low to the ground and close. I see this little bird half under the fence flopping to and fro. I go over and investigate, its a baby Robin. My first instinct is to pick it up. Luckily I didn't listen to myself. I made sure it was ok and went back to my stoop and waited. I figured it fell out of its nest and assumed its parents would some how get to it. I waited for an hour it was still there and still peeping. I scooped the baby up took it inside made a nest in a tiny box, made up some sugar water. It's not easy opening a baby birds beak. I looked online and thats where I got the sugar water suggestion, thankfully we had new and unused droppers at my disposal. I did get a little sugar water down its gullet. I called a local vet looking for a wild life rescue place near by. Unfortunately there wasn't one close. Nearest place was in the Pocono's, that wasn't going to work.
In the mean time I was told by another co worker that she had seen the nest attacked by a crow. The crow had taken one of the babies and this little guy had fallen from the nest. The parents did come back. I located the nest only problem is that it was too high for our ladders to reach. I knew I couldn't take it home having a cat that just wasn't a good idea. One of my co workers came to our aid and was able to get the baby Robin back into the nest. Thank God for thin tall people. I'm hoping this little Robin makes it. I know all too well about letting nature take its course. I do what I can and hope for the best. It's hard for me to watch anyone thats helpless, whether its human or animal.
All in all a good day two Robins back in their nests, Luci and the baby Robin. May they both find home and enjoy all of their days....
Welcome back kiddo. You were missed:)

I am glad to find a kindred spirit when it comes to helping animals. I found a crow a couple of weeks ago. It was almost in the street in front of the drive way. I picked him up and examined him. he didn't seem hurt. I put him in this flower thing in the yard and he was gone by the time I got back. Of course in the background all I heard from grandma was "come wash your hands with soap and water. The bird flu is going around" over and over again.

You are such a good soul. So nice of you to actually research online to make sure you were doing right by baby Robin. I hope he makes it too.

Faith I was one of those kids that always brought some wounded or stray animal home. I haven't grown out of that yet. On occasion I've brought people home that have been down on their luck. We do what we can and hope for the best :)
