Tonight I invited a date over for dinner.

I set the table using a satin black table cloth with a matted stitched crisscross pattern. Black satin napkins wrapped in a strip of white tulle with a red rose bud tied into the bow sit on the edge of scarlet red place setters. Sitting in the middle of the red place setters as decoration only were square white plates.

I served a succulently moist filet minion with a green peppercorn cream sauce along with wild mushroom rice with couscous side dish along with a grilled vegetable medley of squash, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots topped with a semi sweet white wine sauce glaze.

Setting the filet minion on the plate when placing the rice with couscous and vegetables next, then topping the vegetables with the wine sauce glaze on a round black plate.

Although the protocol for red meat is red wine, neither of us likes red wine so I served a chilled white wine.

For dessert I served a light homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

My date said she loved the meal.
