| hating the laura ( it's only an it)

every two years at somewhere around this time my mom gets lonely. her choses to cheer her up are: some random guy who flirts with her, the english grandpa who's dentures keep falling out, the suicidal maniac down the street who's tried to jump off our roof seven times, or the dead rattle snake living in the coy pond. no, neither one of them is good enough! she has to get on the phone. and that getting on the phone results in an airline ticket. the airline ticket results in an extra passenger on the flight. that extra passenger results in a rental car. the rental car results in parking it. which results in getting out of it. which results in walking to the door. which results in ringing the seemingly never stopping mariachi door bell. which results in someone opening the door. which results in walking in. now she's here. the stupidest car on the street. you say go right it goes left. you say go left it goes right. laura. there's just something about her my sister and i hate. so we've tried shooing her away. once we threw play-do'ohhh at her. once (when we were older) we halled her sleeping into the coy pond. and once we put a for sale sign on her rental car(it almost worked!). maybe we hate her because she is ruining the "friends don't let friends vote republican" slogan. maybe it's how she thinks she looks so cute making her little pigs in a blanket. but whatever it is we'll always hate her guts. at least she only comes every two years |
