 The necklace
Last night, my 10-year-old daughter came downstairs while I was watching the Red Sox baseball game.  She sat on my lap, grabbed the remote, and promptly changed the channel to Hannah Montana.

It was only the second inning, and I like Miley Cyrus, so we watched the show together.  When it was over, my daughter kissed me on the cheek and said goodnight.  A minute later she came back.  Without a word, she took off the green-orange-and-yellow necklace she was wearing and put it around my neck.  She fastened it, giggled, kissed me once more, and went to bed.

I turned the ballgame back on and watched as Jon Lester, second-year pitcher and cancer survivor, proceeded to throw a no-hitter.  The first no-hitter by a Boston Red Sox left-hander since 1956.

I'm not a superstitious person, but I am never taking off this necklace.

Thank you Gina.  I love you.

Our children/grandchildren really have a way of melting our hearts, don't they? Looks like you spending time with your daughter, doing something she wanted instead of watching the game, touched her heart, too! :)

You're a lucky man....the love of a daughter and a Red Sox no-hitter.

Ahhh that is so cute.
And what a patient Dad you are ... I know my ex would've protested loudly and turned the tv back to his sports game.

I like you, you're a beautiful Daddy!

... and yerr I'd like to see you wear that necklace to an actual game ! LOL :)

I seem to be following easy all night...so all I can add, ditto

Im wearing a rinestone necklace my daughter gave me and so far, I have not taken it off, I might end up with a green neck, or I could end up being a red neck, who knows

Even though the friendship bracelet that my daughter made is tattered, unraveling and bleached out, it will only be removed from my wrist by its own free will.

I have to say I really don't think that is what my son's father would do. That is where I believe your luck came from. Karma! What goes around comes around
