Just finished reading "Diary of a Geisha" . The description of Japan at the start of World War 2, when Japan invaded Manchuria (1938) reminded me of the USA now. Sayura describes how at first there was very little change, some shortages began to occur such as cosmetics and perfumes, then in 1941, prices started to rise of on food and fuel, In 1942, Japan switched to coal, later to wood for heat and in the final stages of the war, even wood was not available. We financially cannot sustain waging war on the world. George Bush has destroyed the country and sales of wood burning stoves have doubled this year. What do you think?
