Everyone seems to be busy. Well, it is the season. Since Thanksgiving I have been putting in a lot of hours at work learning the new job. I actually do enjoy it, but there is just so much of it. The hits just keep coming! Jeff admitted last week that we may have to add another person to the team. I am not up to speed yet and there are still a number of areas I haven't been introduced to. He says he has the same struggle to trying keep up with it all, so that seems to be the"norm." Well, enough of that. I work in a great place with wonderful people and the rest will fall into place in due time.
I have had fun doing the shopping for Christmas for the family. Even the crowds and traffic cannot daunt my joy. It is a wonderful opportunity to spoil those I love. I am so thankful for my family And speaking of family, last week was the children's Christmas play. They are the best. My Shelby was the star of the show. Maybe only in my eyes, but a star nonetheless. And to top it off, Ryan sat upon my lap through most of the program. Grandchildren here, grandchildren there. It was, well, grand.
Also at our church last week we invited the local synagogue (Temple Beth Israel) to come and teach us the traditions of Hanakkuh. It was such fun. They were warm and delightful people. They introduced us to dreidels, the history of Hannukah, and the traditions involved. It was a fun night, especially for the kids, and any holiday that includes jelly doughnuts is a holiday I embrace!
Sunday we will be at Tammy's house celebrating the two oldest grandsons' birthdays. One will be 20 and the other 17. They are becoming young men. Can you have "grandmen?"
So the season continues with celebration and maybe busyness, but always love, laughter and joy in the One who is not only the Giver but the Gift! Blessings to you and yours.
