| The Last Stupid Thing I Did

Duane and I have these conversations entitled "the last stupid thing I did." Thus far these conversations are only occasional and not frequent. This is Duane's latest contribution and written with his permission.
Most workday mornings he has a can of Slim Fast and a hard boiled egg. Not my kind of breakfast, but he likes it. He boils the eggs up over the weekend and sticks them in the 'fridge. Lately, he decided he wanted his egg to be warm. So he peels off the shell and puts it in the microwave to warm it. The first few times, he had no problem. Then one day the egg exploded in the microwave. Egg everywhere. He said nothing to me, cleaned it up, and next morning puts yet another egg in the microwave. It does not explode and so he picks it up with his hand and as he nears his face. KABLAM! Hot, flying, exploding egg all over him, the table, the floor. This time, however, a piece of egg hit his lip and burned him to the point of blistering. Again, he says nothing to me about the incident, cleans up the mess and goes on his way.
He spent the weekend at the men's campout with a fat lip! Of course he had to explain to the other men how he got the fat lip. They were merciless! "OK, so the egg explodes and the next morning you do it AGAIN!?" He's a good sport and so enjoyed the laughter even if it was at his expense.
He called me before he got home to tell me "the last stupid thing he did." Now this week he is off to Washington DC to a conference where he will be meeting Congressmen and Senators. He is hoping to avoid the question about what happened to his lip. He really doesn't want to become the joke on a national level!
I am sure that in due time I will be adding my own installment to "the last stupid thing I did." Until then, waddle on, friends!

I can see the blistered lip and exploding egg. To do it twice? ha ha.

ha ha ha
I had a co-worker that microwaved a hard boiled egg at a hotel and it blew up all over the place too!!! I guess he is not the only one!!!
